Adventure Play is back this October half term and it’s going to be spooktacular fun! Join us on 27, 28 and 29 October. 5 - 7 year olds: 10am - 12pm and 1- 3pm, £5 per session. 8 - 11 year olds: 9:30am - 3:30pm, £15 per day including lunch. To book, please email familiesteam@gl11.org.uk.

For one week only, we will be bringing all the fun of Messy Monday to our Saturday morning opening. Join us next Saturday 10 October from 9:30am until 12pm. £5 per family (up to 2 adults and 2 children). The cafe will be open serving up bacon and egg rolls, cakes and hot drinks.

If you're shopping at Tesco in Cam there's a very simple thing you can do to support GL11. Just use your blue tokens to help us improve access to fruit and vegetables for children in Cam and Dursley through Tesco Fruit & Veg grants. Vote for us before 30 November and we could receive up to £1,500!

We're holding an Apple Day! Join us and our friends Community Juice at GL11 this Saturday from 10 - 12 to celebrate one of our best-loved fruits. Feel free to bring your own apples with you to juice and bottles if you wish to take any home. We're hoping to make something really unique on the day!

We're launching two regular Saturday morning activities this week. Art and Chat will now have an additional family-friendly session on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month, 11am - 1pm. And Repair Cafe and bike maintenance will now be on the 3rd Saturday of every month, 10am - 12pm.

We want to get Cam and Dursley standing together to talk about cancer. Knowing the signs and symptoms, getting checked and speaking to your GP could make a huge difference. Look out for us in the community over the coming months sharing details about screening and other helpful information.

Today we're saying a massive thank you to everyone who has brought in donations for Bank of Baby Stuff (BOBS), there's an amazing selection for our next event. The next BOBS will be on Friday 16 October between 9:30 and 11:30am. Unfortunately we're no longer able to accept donations for this event.

We offer both a Foodbank and a Community Pantry at GL11 Community Hub, but do you know the difference between the two? Find out more on our website: www.gl11.org.uk/support-for-you
Foodbank: emergency food parcel containing at least three days of food; operates on a referral basis; referrals can be made by GL11, P3 or via Help through Hardship. Community Pantry: open to anyone who needs a helping hand to buy food; choose from items on our well-stocked pantry shelves; you pay £4 per visit; pantry slots are booked on the day.

We had a nice surprise a couple of weeks ago, receiving a very generous donation of dog food from the lovely folks at Elm View Kennels and Cattery. This will allow us to continue offering pet food as part of our Community Pantry, so a huge thank you to the team at Elm View for their support!

Our new drop-in sessions for adult carers in Cam and Dursley start soon, on Thursday 10 September from 2 - 4pm. Sessions will usually feature an expert speaker or wellbeing activity, as well as the opportunity to spend time with other carers. Let's make sure that carers are cared for.

Every month Sharon cooks up a delicious dish inspired by another country's cuisine to serve in our Community Cafe. Tomorrow we're heading to Italy! We'll have minestrone soup and lasagne with garlic bread (vegetarian version available) available all day for just £1 each.

It's Friday, why not treat yourself? Every Friday in August, our cafe and garden will be open to all between 9am and 12pm. Tea, coffee and cake will be available, and there's plenty of space to run around in the garden or relax in our courtyard.
