We are a UK charity raising awareness of non-directed living kidney donation - the act of giving a kidney to a stranger who is in need of one. Our vision is "no waiting for a transplant for want of a kidney".

It's #WorldKidneyDay & we want to say thank you to everyone in the living kidney donation community - to all donors, healthcare professionals, supporters & more. In particular we thank those who have made the choice to greatly improve someone else's life by donating a kidney to a stranger.

Did you know that some people are born with just one kidney! We only need one to lead a healthy life so would you consider 'sharing your spare' with someone who needs it more. A living kidney donation is the best current treatment option for most people who need a transplant.

Steff was first told he needed a transplant aged 37, after he suffered renal failure as a result of T1 diabetes. He spent 3 years on kidney dialysis. His mother joined the UK Living Kidney Sharing Scheme enabling her son to receive a kidney from a stranger. Read more: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/a...
