gitzartdumpo.bsky.social @gitzartdumpo.bsky.social · 23/05/2026I grew up with both Sonic SatAm and AoSTH, and Sonic X. So sometimes it feels a bit odd to see the fandom going back and forth at each other's throats over the Japanese and Western side of the Sonic franchise, when it was very much a "Two cakes" situation for me growing up. 121
gitzartdumpo.bsky.social @gitzartdumpo.bsky.social · 09/05/2026I love how Naughty Dog really wanted to show everyone how much of a big tough edgy bad ass Jak was now after the first game, only for it to make the fandom collectively think, "Nooo! Poor baybeee!!!" and see him more as a big traumatized teddy bear who needs a hug. #jakanddaxter 051
gitzartdumpo.bsky.social @gitzartdumpo.bsky.social · 09/05/2026People contribute too much of the first Sonic movie's success to the redesign. Yes it did earn goodwill from people and get more eyes on it. But it wouldn't have mattered if the movie didn't have a solid script to begin with. The positive word of mouth is what ultimately helped it succeed in the end 030

gitzartdumpo.bsky.social @gitzartdumpo.bsky.social · 26/04/2026It's annoying how hung up people get on Banjo and Kazooie's designs in Nuts and Bolts and dismiss the rest of the game. Most of the designs for the rest of the characters are either actually good or even improvements. You can't tell me characters like Jolly didn't get a legit glow up in the game. 010

gitzartdumpo.bsky.social @gitzartdumpo.bsky.social · 15/04/2026People ask why Bubsy keeps coming back while more highly regarded dead game IPs don't. The answer is simple, guys: It's not highly regarded, but it still has just enough recognition. It's not a big gamble unlike other IPs. It's also not being held hostage by whoever holds the rights to it. 162

gitzartdumpo.bsky.social @gitzartdumpo.bsky.social · 04/04/2026This is one of the many examples of what I mean when I say the English dub ruins several moments in Sonic X that were meant to be serious or tense, unintentionally turning them into a comedy bit. 110
gitzartdumpo.bsky.social @gitzartdumpo.bsky.social · 04/04/2026Tell that to the average Sonic fan when someone even so much as dare say anything remotely positive about these characters. gitzartdumpo.bsky.social @gitzartdumpo.bsky.social · 23/03/2026These over the top flavor texts sprinkled throughout these children's book adaptations of the first couple season 3 Sonic X episodes make them unintentionally funny because it makes it look like these parts are meant to be yelled out while you're reading them or something. 020
gitzartdumpo.bsky.social @gitzartdumpo.bsky.social · 22/03/2026I give you the Worst-Best piece of NPC dialog from a Sonic game. gitzartdumpo.bsky.social @gitzartdumpo.bsky.social · 19/03/2026I miss when the fandom for the Banjo-Kazooie games actually did stuff like make unironic fan art/fiction, or think Jiggywiggy was husband material. Now it largely consists of people just whining for Banjo-Threeie and acting like the first game is the only one that exists. 100
gitzartdumpo.bsky.social @gitzartdumpo.bsky.social · 19/03/2026For the first time ever, I was able to do a %100 deathless playthrough of Banjo-Kazooie! gitzartdumpo.bsky.social @gitzartdumpo.bsky.social · 17/03/2026I know I shouldn't be expecting zoological accuracy from Sonic. gitzartdumpo.bsky.social @gitzartdumpo.bsky.social · 17/03/2026Good God, I've forgotten how stiff the swimming in the first Banjo-Kazooie game feels. gitzartdumpo.bsky.social @gitzartdumpo.bsky.social · 16/03/2026Most people who still whine about Nuts & Bolts to this day have never actually played it beyond the first hour and it's easy to tell. It's obnoxious as someone who has played and beaten it and has a more informed opinion on the game. All because they can't get over their initial disappointment. 130
