A few more improvements: • Generate Changelog from multiple selected commits, even non-contiguous ones • Force Push now appears alongside Pull when a branch has diverged after a rebase or recompose • Commit file details can automatically load on demand in repos where loading them has been slow

Worktrees now get their own Commit Graph context. With Scope to Worktree, you can re-point the entire Commit Graph at a specific worktree. That worktree becomes the context for: • Working changes • Branch + upstream status • Ahead/behind counts • Git actions

GitLens @gitlens.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
GitLens now follows your VS Code display language. Experimental support in: - Spanish - Simplified Chinese - Traditional Chinese Install the matching VS Code language pack and GitLens switches with it, falling back to English where translations aren’t available yet.

GitLens now keeps your repos fast. It can safely refresh Git performance caches, pack loose objects, incrementally repack, and maintain the commit-graph in the background. There’s also a new experimental Repository Health visualization showing what GitLens recommends, why, and what it changed.

More everyday Git workflows, without dropping back to the CLI. GitLens 19.1 adds: • Fixup commits directly from the Graph • Commit Fixup & Squash • Squash Fixups • Autosquash during rebases • Push Tag actions

GitLens @gitlens.bsky.social · 03/09/2026
Put any worktree to work without opening it. Start an agent session or run a VS Code task directly against a worktree. GitLens can also follow your active terminal and automatically select the matching worktree in the Commit Graph.

GitLens @gitlens.bsky.social · 03/09/2026
Live agent status now goes beyond Claude Code. Codex, GitHub Copilot CLI, and OpenCode sessions can now show up across GitLens, including the Agents side bar panel, Commit Graph working-changes (WIP), and the details panel. See what your agents are doing without losing your place.

Agents can move the work. You stay in control. Your branches. Your worktrees. Your changes. Your agent sessions. Your reviews. Your commits. Connected to the repository context around them. One workbench for your development workflow.
100
GitLens @gitlens.bsky.social · 17/08/2026
Ship complex work in smaller, reviewable pieces. GitLens 19 brings stacked PR workflows into your IDE, so you can break larger changes into dependent branches and PRs that are easier to review & move forward. See how the stack connects, keep work organized, and manage w/o losing context.
100
GitLens @gitlens.bsky.social · 17/08/2026
🔀 Your PRs now live closer to the work behind them. Browse and focus open pull requests directly from the Commit Graph. Compare changes. Review with AI or an agent. Switch branches or open a worktree. Then merge when the work is ready. Less context reconstruction between Git and the PR.
100
GitLens @gitlens.bsky.social · 17/08/2026
⚡ When parallel work collides, resolve conflicts with context. AI-powered Resolve can use your repository to understand ambiguous conflicts, propose a resolution, and explain the reasoning behind it. You get the context. You review the fix. You stay in control.
100
GitLens @gitlens.bsky.social · 17/08/2026
✨ Take the manual work out of rebasing. Choose Automatic Rebase and GitLens can use AI to resolve, stage, and continue through conflicts from start to finish. It only stops when confidence drops or something actually needs you. Then review exactly what it did, w/ reasoning for every resolution.
100
GitLens @gitlens.bsky.social · 17/08/2026
🔍 Understand exactly what changed before moving forward. Compare commits, branches, revisions, or working changes directly from the Commit Graph. Validate the work, understand the differences, and make your next decision with the context right in front of you.
100
GitLens @gitlens.bsky.social · 17/08/2026
🧩 Turn scattered changes into review-ready commits. AI-assisted Compose helps organize human or agent-generated work into clean, intentional commits directly from the Commit Graph. Shape the history so reviewers understand it and the next dev doesn’t have to reconstruct how the code got there.
100
GitLens @gitlens.bsky.social · 17/08/2026
👀 Uncover issues earlier. AI-powered Review helps surface what needs attention while the work is still fresh, before it becomes a massive PR. Dig deeper with follow-ups, then send the full review, a focus area, or an individual finding back to your coding agent.

GitLens @gitlens.bsky.social · 17/08/2026
🤖 See all your work in one place. Track WIP across worktrees. See branches and working changes. Monitor supported coding agent sessions and know when something needs your attention. Human and agent work, connected in the Commit Graph.
110
GitLens @gitlens.bsky.social · 17/08/2026
The Commit Graph isn’t just for visualizing Git history anymore. 🪄 It’s where your development workflow comes together. See human and agent work across branches and worktrees, understand what’s changing, and move work forward without bouncing between views.

Generating code was never the hard part. Flow is. Wyatt Baggett ran AI agents overnight, woke up to 17 branches, and had to figure out what actually shipped vs. what just looked done. Velocity without visibility isn't progress. It's just chaos with a head start. medium.com/@wyattbagget...

If your repo is starting to feel chaotic from coding agents, parallel work, and worktrees everywhere… GitLens 18 is probably the cleanest workflow upgrade you can make right now. Better Git workflows for the agent era. Read the full GitLens 18 release notes: help.gitkraken.com/gitlens/gitl...

🧪 Agent Kanban is kind of wild. Your active coding agents automatically organize into Kanban boards for: • Needs Input • Working • Idle • Inactive This is an experimental feature so try it out and let us know what you think.

The new Visualizations are seriously cool. 📈 Visual History 🗺️ Commit Treemaps 🤖 Agent Activity Treemaps You can literally see where development and AI agent activity are concentrated across your repository.

Modern repos are noisy as hell. GitLens 18 adds: 📌 Branch pinning 🎯 Focused Graph views So you can stop staring into the full Git abyss and focus on the work you actually care about.
100
GitLens @gitlens.bsky.social · 29/05/2026
Multi-worktree WIP rows sounds small until you use it. Seeing active changes across ALL worktrees directly in the Graph completely changes parallel workflows. Way less “wait what branch was that change on again?”

GitLens @gitlens.bsky.social · 29/05/2026
Ever looked at an AI-generated diff and thought: “Yeah… I’m not reviewing all of that.” Commit Composer now lives directly inside the Graph so you can organize generated changes into clean, reviewable commits before they hit your PR.
100
GitLens @gitlens.bsky.social · 29/05/2026
AI made generating code easy. Understanding what changed is now the bottleneck. GitLens 18 adds AI Review directly into the Commit Graph so you can continuously validate generated work before giant PRs become review disasters. Severity indicators. Focus areas. Commit-aware reviews.
100
GitLens @gitlens.bsky.social · 29/05/2026
The biggest shift in GitLens 18: The Commit Graph is no longer just history. It’s now a complete surface for parallel agent work: -Review generated code. -Track agent sessions. -Compose commits. -Manage worktrees. -Compare outputs. -Resolve conflicts.

GitLens @gitlens.bsky.social · 29/05/2026
Your repo after a few weeks of coding agents: 🌿 branches everywhere 🤖 agents everywhere 📂 worktrees everywhere 😵 context nowhere GitLens 18 is our answer to that. The Commit Graph became a workbench for parallel development. 🧵

GitLens hit a milestone that shows what happens when you solve real problems for developers. We started with a simple idea: make Git history visual, intuitive, and actually useful inside VS Code. Eight years later, developers have spoken. Thanks for trusting us with your Git workflow. 🙌
