As King County grows, our transit system needs to grow with it. That means making it easier to get to work, school, appointments, and the people we care about.

The plan calls for: 🚌 Up to nine new bus routes and four new RapidRide routes. ⏱️ A 12% increase in service, with more buses running every 15 minutes or better. 🤝 More security and trained behavioral health professionals. 🌱 Replacing 80% of our bus fleet with newer, cleaner vehicles.

We opened King County’s 99th official ballot drop box, making it easier for people to make their voices heard! Just 10 years ago, we had only 10 drop boxes. By next week, we’ll have 100. Great work, King County Elections. Make your voice heard and get your vote in before Tuesday, November 3rd 🗳️

We’re launching a new Permitting Advisory Panel to speed up permitting and build homes and open businesses more quickly. Our King County teams have already brought down wait times by 25% and dramatically increased customer service. Now it’s time to do more. content.govdelivery.com/accounts/WAK...

Today, we’re celebrating 41 new affordable homes at Creekside Village on Vashon Island! 🏡 King County invested $8.375 million in this project because affordable housing should be within reach for people across our entire region, including our island and rural communities.

When I moved to the Skyway area as a kid, I felt the lack of places for people to gather, play, and connect. Now we finally have the opportunity to change that reality. Thank you to the residents, and King County staff who have worked for years to bring us to this moment.

Skyway, we’re delivering a Community Center for you! After decades of community advocacy, we have the building, the land, and dedicated resources to begin the project. Now we get to help shape it together.

Together, we’re expanding Energize, bringing EV chargers to more communities, and advocating for stronger climate policies. My latest proposed budget includes $4.6 million to cut pollution and build climate resilience across King County.

Last week, we convened the King County-Cities Climate Collaboration, K4C, to accelerate climate action across our region. Extreme heat, smoke, and floods have brought the climate crisis to our doorstep. Climate action must be a core part of how we govern, with the urgency these threats demand.

As a son of South Seattle, this station is personal for me. When I lived on Graham Street, getting to light rail meant walking long distances to get to the closest station. For seniors, parents with young kids, and neighbors with disabilities, that distance can be a real barrier.

I was proud to propose an amendment with @mayorofseattle that is keeping Graham Street Station on track to be built by 2031, and today I got to celebrate that progress with the neighbors who helped make it possible. It was so much fun joining the Graham Street block party!

With 30% of Washingtonians without access to a car, building a transportation system that works for everyone matters. Let’s rethink how we move, build a more accessible community, and ride to the occasion, without driving!
