Insidious 1 and 2 are a duology, kind of like halloween 1 and 2. Like they’re very much one overall story (and 2 is the worst one), but then 3 moves forward in real time and there has been genuine impactful character progression.

It’s got legit character growth, there’s no camp acting, despite being Patrick Wilson’s first director gig, it looks fantastic. Its got genuine laugh out loud moments and even goes full Raimi at multiple points I’m really shocked at how much I liked it. I was not expecting that at all
