It's a way of thinking that lacks critical thinking skills. You can see FA receiving donations because it is a very large singular entity. Smaller entities are going to be significantly less noticeable whilst also being more numerous, forcing people to pick and choose who to be charitable towards.

Good fucking lord I hate that I have to say this. Yes, FA costs $300k per year. This $180,000 covers the shortfall. FA+ is $60 per year and only 2,000 people need to have it to make up the other $120,000, and that's not including the shop where they sell merchandise as well as the owner's own cash.

It's akin to convenience food. It's easy to throw a plastic tray at a microwave and hit go, but even short-term it's categorically awful versus even mild food prep. I can find my work on FA from 2006 in a few minutes because of the larger upfront work, whereas social media is incredibly difficult.
