On Friday, I successfully defended my dissertation, “Desolate, it Mourns to Me—All the Land is Desolate, But No One Takes it to Heart: Jeremiah’s Ecotheology.” I am so excited to enter the world of biblical scholarship as a PhD!

Thanks to a random Instagram influencer, I now have a new favourite Bible verse.

Joshua 8:28
New Revised Standard Version Updated
Edition

28 So Joshua burned Ai and made it forever a heap of ruins, as it is to this day.

Josiah, I applaud you for this but this would be so hard for me to do in my speech 🥲 it’s like when people tell me “pen” and “pin” are different and I try and I sound like I’ve never spoken English before.

Josiah, they rhyme so much. Probably the most rhyming words in the world, probably.

Does anyone know this Bacon citation? I’m trying to stash some sources for the day I write the introduction of my dissertation and this would be a great addition. This book is “Ecology and Theology of Nature,” edited by Hogan, Vila-Chã, and Orobator

It's possible that the 7 Marys in the New Testament and Miriam in the Old Testament were really called Mariam. I look at all these women and their names here. margmowczko.com/miriam-maria...
