Just some autistic guy who likes playing video games. Very boring. Don't expect much activity from me.

Now, more than ever, we need to focus on the good, the positives, because things aren't going to get any easier going forward. That's not to say the negatives should be completely ignored, but focusing too much on them will cause us to lose sight of what's important. That's all I really have to say.

But I will also never forget the sheer fear and terror of nearly losing my life, of being as close to death's doorstep as possible. That is why I make it a point to value life. Not just my own but others too. I don't care what other people may have done, I would never wish for that horror upon them.

I still have permanent damage, both physical and mental, from that accident. I will never drive again. I have a permanent wobble to how I walk that people have pointed out. I have scars on the back of my hands. I have all these reminders of why I will never be able to drive because I'm not "normal."

I bring this up because I myself nearly lost my life years ago. I went through a hellish car accident that I only lived through because of a miracle, the smallest of small margins and that's not even accounting for the horror of having to go through torturous rehabilitation as my body healed itself.

The difference between wishing for death and actually causing death is the proverbial pull of the trigger. I don't want to live in a world where that's normalized, where people think that's "okay" just because they didn't actually do it, especially if they go on to celebrate that person's death too.

I try to stay out of politics because a lot of it goes over my head and it's such a difficult and complicated subject that I don't want to dismiss anyone's views as objectively wrong. But when I see people wishing for someone's death, either seriously or jokingly, it truly makes me feel disgusted...

When we deal out that justice ourselves, it tends to get twisted and malformed into something far more grotesque. It's why I don't believe that, as human individuals, we don't have the right to play judge, jury, and executioner. We simply don't have the capacity of being able to do that, on our own.

GingerGeoff @gingergeoff.bsky.social · 01/01/2026
Call me naive if you want, but believing that "might makes right" will only sink us further into darkness. Saying those who have committed wrongs deserve equal if not worse retribution for those wrongs will only lose sight of ourselves. Sure, when justice is warranted, it should be dealt, however...

We currently live in a dark world where people believe that they feel justified in hurting others, no matter how little they feel wronged. I don't believe in such a thing, there is absolutely no justifiable reason to ever intentionally hurt someone. We cannot accept that and I refuse to accept that.

Anyone familiar with me knows that, despite my faults, I am a kind, caring, and generous person. So to have these traits of mine exploited out of selfish gain, to find out that they told others that I "had it out for them" despite everything that I did for them, is just... so unbelievably hurtful...

I'm definitely going to start keeping my distance from people I am not too familiar with going forward. Over the past couple years, I got used and tossed aside by people who have no appreciation for what others do for them. Some of these people even went on to make false accusations and spread lies.

So we've come to the end of the year and I barely posted anything despite saying that I would try to post more. Unfortunately, a lot of IRL matters came up that caused significant stress for me and I went dark for several months. I really want to try to make it a goal to post here more often, but...

"Oh yeah, I haven't been on Bluesky in a while. How long has it been? Surely it can't have been more than a week, right?" *logs on to Bluesky to check* It's been over two weeks... I really need to be better about not procrastinating... Bleh...

Thank you! It's been very hard work trying to get this promotion and I'm glad my efforts are finally paying off!

Alright, I'm done with the new chapters of Deltarune and FINALLY caught up on everything I missed on Bluesky. Now I need to figure out what to focus on next. In other news, I got promoted at work, so I'm hoping to get a significant pay raise from it. I'm gonna need it with how much costs are rising.

Don't get me wrong! I love Undertale and Deltarune! I'm excited to finally continue the adventure! But when those chapters are released next Wednesday, this site is going to be absolutely FLOODED with discussions about it.

Oh god, I just realized... Deltarune Chapters 3 & 4 come out in a week...

Man, using social media is just exhausting. On one hand, I'm glad I'm not addicted to it like some poor souls are. On the other, it takes FOREVER for me to catch up on everything if I haven't checked the site in like a week. I need to find a good balance in regards to how frequently I catch up here.

With that said, the negativity around current events has had me kinda bummed. It's hard to be positive in a world full of so much strife. Feels like I can't even speak my mind without fearing that someone will slam me for just trying to find things to enjoy and be happy about. It's so frustrating...

It has been a while since I posted, so I figured I should give an update. Things are still a bit rough, but the dust from the events over the past month or so seems to be settling finally. Work is going well and my superiors are going to push for me to get promoted in June, so hopefully I'll get it.

So good news, I'm no longer on overtime. This past month has been a huge struggle and incredibly stressful, not just because of work but because of previously mentioned personal matters that I don't feel comfortable discussing in a public space like this. But hopefully, I'll have more free time now.

I'm not going to, but... damn, is it hard to resist the temptation to crawl back into that protective shell again. It doesn't help that I have been having doubts since last week about my own integrity, something that I will go into at a later point once I have more free time and feel more... stable.

I have a history of being exploited for my kindness. It's why I became a friendless shut-in up until I met my fiancée who convinced me to open up again. And now I am once again going through the motions of wanting to seclude myself once more and lock my heart away out of safety for my mental sanity.

I will say this much: Sometimes the people you think would never do awful, immoral things are not only capable of it, but can potentially do so much worse if they wish. Never just assume that someone is harmless from how they appear on the surface. Make sure to be vigilant of what people say and do.

To make matters worse, my fiancée has been sick and has had to keep her distance from me to avoid passing her illness on to me. So we're basically starved of affection during a time of great emotional turmoil. We're unable to support each other as much as we'd like to when we need it more than ever.

I hate feeling angry. It makes me feel like utter garbage after the feelings pass, like a bitter aftertaste. I take no pleasure from these horrid feelings, even if it's justified. And I unfortunately can't go into details of the matter because it's very personal, and I've had more than enough drama.

Good god, these past two weeks have been absolute hell. The amount of emotional whiplash I've experienced is enough to give a JRPG story a run for its money. And topping it all off, this past weekend, something had happened that made me feel a furious indignation I have not felt in a very long time.

From what I understand, it will last until the end of March. The reason it's been so intense lately is that, unfortunately, one of my coworkers went on family leave, so we all had to work harder to make up for that. It's definitely been hard, but the pay will be worth it at least. We really need it.

Dear god, I don't think I've ever overworked myself to this degree before... I've been so focused on my job these past few weeks that I had no time to relax. I only just now got caught up on Bluesky and I haven't touched any of my games since the weekend before last. 60-hour work weeks are rough...

While I still don't see much point in celebrating birthdays, I do appreciate that people will use my birthday to remind me of how much they love me for who I am and wouldn't want me to change just because I dealt with people who didn't like me. To those of you who share such compassion, I thank you.

GingerGeoff @gingergeoff.bsky.social · 03/02/2025
So I turned 36 today. I honestly really don't see the point in birthdays especially when you get to my age. What exactly is there to celebrate? That I should be happy that I lived through another year? Not exactly something that I feel I should take pride in. I'm just a year older now. Nothing more.

Sorry I've been so quiet lately. I've been going through a lot of negative emotions lately, tons of stress and depression. On top of that, I'm now working overtime at 60 hours a week. To say my free time is quite limited is an understatement. I'll try to find something to talk about but no promises.

Oh yeah, I should probably share the status of my neck here, shouldn't I? I recently had a follow-up appointment for my surgery that involved removing a cyst from my neck. They said the incision is healing nicely and it doesn't appear that the cyst will come back, so I'm essentially in the clear.

Speaking of #AGDQ2025, I still can't get over how my donation during #AGDQ2024 was read out loud! But of course, it was only read because someone's game crashed during the run... How fitting for me. lol I'm still very happy it got read though! clips.twitch.tv/AffluentClev...

So now I'm relaxing in bed to recover from the surgery with my wonderful fiancée taking care of me. At least I've got #AGDQ to keep me entertained in the meantime as I watch it with my other friends online. Gotta say, this year's has been especially awesome, so many wonderful runs and performances.

This includes having to have surgery performed on the back of my neck. A large cyst had formed on it and got infected in November, and having the infection drained was super unpleasant. So because of that painful experience as well as the really awful placement of it, I had the entire cyst excised.

Hey all, sorry I haven't said much. Still getting used to this whole social media thing. Also been dealing with a lot of stress, anxiety, and depression. Also just struggling to come up with things to talk about. See? Told you I was boring. Just struggling with a lot of real life problems right now.

I consider this one of my greatest achievements in gaming ever. This was incredibly difficult to do and required many attempts and lots and lots of patience.
131
GingerGeoff @gingergeoff.bsky.social · 09/12/2024
But I even had the game crash at one point towards the end of a level, forcing me to do the whole level over from the beginning! It's really unacceptable to see this sort of issue in what is supposed to be an "enhanced" remaster. It really is disappointing because I know Tantalus can do better.
000
GingerGeoff @gingergeoff.bsky.social · 09/12/2024
Oh, right, how could I forget? The HD remaster added new bugs not present in the original! Granted, they're mostly minor audio bugs, such as the music just randomly restarting mid-level and E. Gadd's theme playing when transitioning to and from the results screen.
100
GingerGeoff @gingergeoff.bsky.social · 07/12/2024
I feel like they should have bundled the first game with it to justify the price. That and I'm a bit salty that the first game was passed over for a remaster treatment, which would've been a better candidate imo. Oh well. At least there's still the ScareScraper since the 3DS online was taken down.
100
GingerGeoff @gingergeoff.bsky.social · 07/12/2024
Sure, it looks nicer than it did on 3DS, but considering how much better the third game looks by comparison, it makes you question why they even bothered. Tantalus couldn't even get the game to run at 60 FPS, which is baffling when they were able to do that with Skyward Sword's HD remaster.
100
GingerGeoff @gingergeoff.bsky.social · 07/12/2024
As an HD remaster, it's easily the most disappointing one that Nintendo has ever published and it had no business being released at full price for what little it added. It's just a simple upres port with no new content or QoL changes. All they really added was the option to turn off motion controls.
100
GingerGeoff @gingergeoff.bsky.social · 07/12/2024
The game is called "Luigi's Mansion" so I expect to spend most of my time inside or around said mansion. Next Level Games at least learned from most of their mistakes since the third entry fixed a lot of these issues. Still, it's a shame that the second game is still mediocre as I remember it being.
100
GingerGeoff @gingergeoff.bsky.social · 07/12/2024
The mission-based structure also doesn't help. It makes everything feel more disconnected. Instead of exploring one huge, spooky mansion, you explore five different, much smaller areas that have no connection at all to each other, and only two of them are actually mansions.
100
GingerGeoff @gingergeoff.bsky.social · 07/12/2024
The game is also very lacking in atmosphere. Whereas the first and third games felt genuinely spooky (especially the first game where I found it to be genuinely scary as a kid), the second game feels so cartoonish that it's quite off-putting. The locations also feel pretty generic for the most part.
100
GingerGeoff @gingergeoff.bsky.social · 07/12/2024
The bosses in particular lack intuitiveness to their fights. Most of them are quite frustrating because, half the time, the game expects you to know what to do without saying anything. Even the first boss fight with the spider can be very confusing because progressing through each phase isn't clear.
100
GingerGeoff @gingergeoff.bsky.social · 07/12/2024
So I recently finished Luigi's Mansion 2 HD and man... I was really hoping it would get me to appreciate the game more, but instead, it just reminded me of why it's my least favorite of the trilogy. It has some good ideas, but the execution is just done so poorly.

GingerGeoff @gingergeoff.bsky.social · 04/12/2024
I've been checking their online store and it's been sold out on there too. I don't really know any other friends who go to Walmart and I don't really wanna bother them over a Christmas decoration.
