It won't stop me - I've already decided I'll be breaking established convention over my bent knee and play my characters visiting the Fourth by whatever bullshit I deem best applicable - but it does not satisfy me, and it won't satisfy anyone who wants to play closer to what the setting allows.

Sigh. I remain unimpressed with the storytelling leading up to Evercold. Yet again they're going for the "Only the WoL can go back and forth!" plot device, and the end result is yet another expansion where roleplayers who want to keep grounded to the setting are left in the dust.

Given that folk will always misinterpret everything, the one you have to stay true to is yourself. My satisfaction comes from playing out my boys the way they Are - if I can't be comfortable with them, doesn't matter how accepted by everyone else they are.

We can try to be as clear-cut about intentions as possible. Folk will make the wrong assumptions about our characters all the time, IC and OOC. I find that's part and parcel of social interaction writ large - same could be said, after all, of interactions IRL.
