I know he's no longer #Mets problem, but...what an absolute shocker. You could knock Citi Field over with a feather on this one. 🙄

To be frank, I'm far more concerned about our boys. I'm hoping the old adage, "it's always darkest before the dawn" holds true and that we really have to EARN that cup the hard way. That insipid, below standards effort last week was a bad joke.

Kinda curious move...during a game? 🧐

Can’t wait until he’s an ex-Met.

You expect me to get back into that discussion from an eternity ago? I hardly give a shit now.

Or change "DH" to "dessicated hitter."

000

Gil Griffin @gilgriffin.bsky.social · 09/08/2026

So...I see Luis Torrens came in and pitched 2 innings for the #Mets.😬 And Boy Blunder's newest acquisition, Gabriel Arias did what he does best -- strike out -- and he made a throwing error. And that happened AFTER Boy Blunder's Dumpster-Dive starting pitcher Robert Stock got lit the F up.😡

Gil Griffin @gilgriffin.bsky.social · 09/08/2026

#Mets fans, I pointed out yesterday that Gabriel Arias, Boy Blunder's latest Dumpster-Dive find, struck out 162 times in '25. So HUGE surprise what he did in his first #Mets AB.🙄

Gil Griffin @gilgriffin.bsky.social · 07/08/2026

Anyone bother to tell #Mets POBO Boy Blunder aka David Stearns that this guy K'd 162 times last year, while hitting .220? How is he an asset in any way to any club in the organization? If Boy Blunder needs bodies to fill Minor League rosters, he'd have done better with someone off the street.

I loved "Pops." I once met him as a 13-year-old kid at the 1980 Super Bowl at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, where the Steelers were playing the Rams. My dad took me, we were in the crowd and Pops walked by, smoking a cigar. Nice guy! Long before there were selfies, Dad snapped a pic of Pops and me.

Someone’s gotta do SOMETHING to make this season bearable. It takes me back to the mound behavior of Tigers’ rookie starter Mark “The Bird” Fidrych in ‘76, an All-Star that year and national sensation, which included beating the Yankees in a prime time, national TV game. youtu.be/5SAavlR5ZVw?...

Wow. That’s some monumental family history, Mike. Would you mind if I send you a direct message? I have an additional question I’d like to ask you.

100

Gil Griffin @gilgriffin.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

Mike, thanks for the follow. I greatly respect your phrase, "victory through tragedy." I teach US history to high school students. In our WWII unit, they researched then I had them stage a formal debate on whether the US should've used A-bombs. As you post, the moral issue is complex, not simple.

On #Mets new reliever, Jumpin' Jefry Yan: His strikeout schtick is entertaining AF, but will it ever go sideways? 1)Will opposing batters now do jump splits after they walk or get hits off him? 2)Will his celebrations cause a bench-clearing brawl? 3)Will he hurt himself? youtube.com/shorts/VzeX6...

What does it even matter at this point?

000

Gil Griffin @gilgriffin.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

And #Mets, ever so cognizant of their fan base, plaster an accompanying pic of the lineup, of a guy batting below .200, as if that's incentive for us to watch.

"Ya gotta Believe!" OK. I believe the #Mets will finish dead last. Not just in the NL East, but in all of MLB. I believe we will finish in the same spot NEXT year. Why? Because our 'president of BB ops' is a drooling idiot who thinks baseball is played with a bloody spreadsheet.

Read he's a SS/2B. Does he play all three positions?

100

Gil Griffin @gilgriffin.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

This is about the only player we've gotten back I'm actually excited about. Holmes would've opted out and Taylor as a 32-year-old really has little value as a fourth OF. Rojas could very soon take over as our everyday 2B.

000

Gil Griffin @gilgriffin.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

Clay Holmes eventually won me over as a starting pitcher who could be counted on in important games. Tyrone Taylor started the #Mets epic comeback rally in the famous 2024 Game 161 win in Atlanta. Good luck to both of them with the Cubbies.

Now here's a move I actually like...kinda. I've read very good things about Jefferson Rojas. We'll see in time if Boy Blunder proves us #Mets fans wrong on this trade.

Like so much Boy Blunder does, I 💯 disagree with this move. #Mets

💯 I trust and believe in Boy Blunder as much as I do 🤡 and his fascist administration.

110

Gil Griffin @gilgriffin.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

This is one potential #Mets move I absolutely disagree with. If we have any intention of being competitive next year, he's a guy we need to keep. Can't see the Bucs overwhelming us with a return we can't refuse.

Gil Griffin @gilgriffin.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

Gotta love Boy Blunder's Dumpster-diving fetish. Chayce McDermott, who #Mets just got from the Dodgers for Ben Rortvedt? He was recently DFA'd. Last year for Baltimore? A 15.58 ERA in 8 games, with 12 BB and 15 ER in 8.2 IP. How would he help at ANY level? Why not just take 💰 for Rortvedt?

At last! #Mets make trade deadline blockbuster deal, guaranteed to reshape the future!!!🥱 (Who here remembered we even still had this guy in our system?)

Gil Griffin @gilgriffin.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

Prices so low, #Mets are practically giving them all away! (Folks of a certain age will get that cultural reference 😁) Thanks to Brooks Raley and good luck with...the Phillies?!😳

It had to happen. #Mets trading one of the season's few bright spots. It's a necessary evil brought about by horrendous roster mismanagement. Big thanks to Huascar Brazobán for his efforts as in orange and blue and best of luck to him with the #WhiteSox.
