Every now and then, years of committing to an idea pays off big time. Yes, this is a single shot. Kinderdijk, the Netherlands, June 19, 2026. #onweer #lightning #thunderstorm

The G5 solar super storm of May 10-11, two years ago. An absolute eye-opener to what a top-tier Aurora event can look like, and the most mind-blowing photography session I've ever experienced. One brilliant substorm after another from dusk till dawn. #aurora #auroraborealis #G5

National Windmill Day(s) 2026 in the Netherlands. The shapes of classic windmills often stand out strongly in the landscape, making them perfect to include in all kinds of shots featuring the beauty of lots of different natural phenomena. #molendag #windmill #molen

I guess it's not a bad series of captures, taken it was only the first storm chase of the season. Belgium and the Netherlands, May 2nd, 2026. #onweer #thunderstorm #orage

Well, I guess 'Happy Earth Day!' it is. Featured: four images taken close to home, right here in the Netherlands, proving one doesn't always need to travel far to see nature at its most spectacular. #EarthDay #EarthDay2026

Sometimes luck simply walks into the frame. Still, it requires knowing where and when to go to get the most photogenic compositions and conditions. The Netherlands, November 8, 2025. #Autumn #herfst #forest

Last night's short, but naked-eye visible Aurora show. The fog blanket made for an atmosphere I hadn't captured in an Aurora shot for well over a year, so it made for a very welcome addition. The north of the Netherlands, 20:26 UTC. #AuroraBorealis #noorderlicht

Last night's Aurora was mostly invisible from the Netherlands, mainly due to cloud cover. However, September 2nd got me a series of shots I'm unlikely to ever capture again, featuring the Northern Lights, a thunderstorm and airglow. #aurora #auroraborealis #northernlights

Far from being the most spectacular Aurora of Solar Cycle 25, September 2nd's event had its moments. However, the true showstopper was a tiny thunderstorm. Bonus: even a bit of airglow made an appearance. The Wadden Sea, NL. #Auroraborealis #Noorderlicht

Even the weakest, tiniest thunderstorms can produce an incredible beauty. The Dutch coast, last night. #Thunderstorms #onweer #lightning

Asteroid 2023 CX1, which fell over France on February 13, 2023, photographed from the Netherlands. It was only the seventh asteroid to have been discovered before impact. All I had to do was drive to clear skies and a nice foreground close to home to capture it. #space #astrophotography #astronomy

One year since the biggest Aurora show I've seen so far. With recent months being outright boring when it comes to solar activity, or pretty much anything else worth taking pictures of, I'm in need of a fix like this. Étretat, France, May 10-11, 2024. #aurora #auroraborealis #northernlights

We're currently in yet another winter which isn't particularly rich in wintry weather in the Netherlands. Two years ago, though, on the German mountain of Feldberg in the Black Forest, a perfect combination of snow, frost, fog and sunlight existed on a cold Sunday morning. #winter #snow #Germany

The incredible October 10-11 G4 Aurora. Bright reds and greens could be seen with the naked eye, and this shot wasn't even taken during one of the strongest substorms. Goes to show the Netherlands can be a great for watching the Northern Lights during a solar maximum. #aurora #space #Netherlands

Porcelain fungus is found on the rotting remnants of beech trees, and the massive trunks and branches surrounding these mushrooms are reaching the end of their long lives one by one, making way for the more subtle photogenic details of the forest. #autumn #forest #photography

Right, first post on Bluesky, just to have something here to look at while I check this place out. Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) and the core of the Milky Way over Roques de García, Tenerife, on October 22nd of this year. #comet #space #tenerife
