Pre-Covid Alabama (and Mississippi) led the nation in immunization and childhood vaccinations! Mississippi boasts a 99% childhood immunization rate pre-K!
As of 2017, Alabama’s combined seven-vaccine series coverage rate among children ages 19 to 35 months was 71.1 percent, higher than the 2018 national average of 70.4 percent. And, as of July 2018, Alabama’s performance rate for adolescent immunizations coverage was 73.9 percent- higher than the national average of 70.3 percent. To continue to improve its immunization levels and work towards the Healthy People 2020 goals, Alabama uses the following levers. Why Immunize?
Immunizations save lives
Immunizations have protected Mississippi's children from deadly diseases for over 50 years. Highly contagious diseases like measles, mumps, polio and chicken pox used to be unavoidable childhood illnesses that took children out of school and put them at risk of hospitalization or death. As late as 1998 Mississippi lost four children to chicken pox alone, deaths that immunizations could have helped prevent.

Mississippi began a strong program of childhood immunization in 1994 to bring the state up to national standards for immunization protection. Since then, our state has been a national leader in immunization coverage, with over 99% of children who enter kindergarten being protected. Mississippi children now have an excellent chance of growing up without the damage that childhood diseases can cause, and are less likely to die from them than ever before.

@davidzipper.bsky.social You've been a critic of CAFE standards right? - thoughts on this? On the whole I feel like this is bad, but curious if there's a glimmer of good here or if this is just making a bad thing worse.

Weirdly not bothered by this. Advertising, not subscriptions, were the lifeblood of print media for decades and arguably the best way we could democratize the internet is through an ad-service that puts users/content creators first. Question remains how BlueSky would approach this imo.

Question for the #TTRPG crowd: As someone that has never GMed a game, but eager to play a co-op TTRPG with my partner, what would you recommend between: 1) The Wildsea 2) The One Ring 3) Borg (Mork Borg, Cy_Borg, Pirate Borg) 4) Colostle
