He likes meeting, helping and listening to people, but he does not know how to insert himself in a conversation (nor does he open up at all when asked.) The longer the fight, the more focus he is on his foes, and his perception starts leaving out his allies. This is why he's pretty bad at being a protector. Or escort missions. 000
