I think every major company is looking at open weight AI models and realizing they can just bring them in house with an internal engineering team and cut out the frontier model companies to save money. They have more control and privacy. I really don't see frontier labs surviving this.

#llm #ai I tried ollama cloud for a month side by side to claude pro (I paid full year) and I feel like it is a nice addition in this way I can play a bit with open weight model as well. Do I have better option that #ollama cloud or is it the one? 😅

I think it is time to get a proper rack for my #homelab. But I don't know the options out there. Any tips?!

random changes to claude code behavior is annoying. For example now it looks like auto mode is disabled somewhere. It was not the case a few days ago. I can't find how to enable it. It also switched automatically to "consume mode" when I went over my session limit. It didn't to it two weeks ago..

It is not the first time this year my laptop does not have enough resources to properly run the huge codebases my customers needs help with! So I put together a NixOS (since I already have devshells per customer) and automation to get a ondemand ready to go and configured dev env.

I don't know how it happened but I just noticed that #claude code moved to "Now using usage credits" and maybe I was too much into Yes man mode but I remember the 94% limit and at some point I just started thinking "oh this 6% looks pretty big" 💸

30% of deployments on Vercel are now agent-initiated. Six months ago that was zero. Your pipeline wasn't designed for this traffic shape. Neither was your on-call rotation. shippingbytes.com/2026/07/17/3...

Claude code state is broken again and I am wasting time trying to fix it without having to wipe again the claude cache... And "Claude Pro users are not currently able to use Opus in Claude Code. The current model is now Sonnet." I don't remember this was the case yesterday

#claude keeps corrupting its local state folder and it fails miserably to start at least once a week. I think it is time to ask claude to migrate the project to what? #java ?

I use #KeepassX since forever but I feel like it does not integrate that well anymore with my setup or maybe it is a skill issue. I uses it as system keyring but I feel there is some race condition and Evolution Calendar does not correctly authenticate with Google and external calendars. #linux

I wrote about the hidden cost of “vibe coding.” AI makes it easy to generate working software fast. But someone still has to: * maintain it * debug it * secure it * understand it months later A demo is not the same thing as a sustainable system. shippingbytes.com/2026/05/07/v...

Most arguments about AI-generated code are talking past each other. Robby Russell asks "does it work?" often yes. Paul Stack asks "does it keep working?" that's where vibe coding breaks down. Both are right. They're just answering different questions. New post shippingbytes.com/2026/04/22/d...

When y make your LLM to add a detail plan for itself to use and you commit it for a human to review with a commit message that is a line by line translation from code to "human" and a PR description that is again another verbose translation from A to B for 100 lines changes how do you feel?

I think there is a lot we can learn about "how much we care about something" from "coding agent usage pattern". At least I can clearly recognize it for myself, perfect time to walk out, drink some water, resign.
