I was surprised and impressed by how good the effects still are. I hadn’t watched it since the 90s. My son, seeing it for the first time, thought it outstanding. Watching on VHS was cool too.

John Eastwood, great grandson of Edmund Blake - the 1st actor to play Dracula on stage, sent me this photo of my Bela Lugosi autographed postcard at the "Dracula Returns to Derby" exhibition marking the centenary of the 1st performance of Dracula on May 15, 1924. #Dracula #BelaLugosi #EdmundBlake

Glorious visuals coupled with jaw-dropping amateurish dubbing make for a great mid-1960s Italian sci-fi extravaganza. youtu.be/MeCpOgTo2cE?... #1960asci-fi #Italiansciencefiction #sci-fimovies #Warbetweentheplanets #IDiafanoidiVengonodaMarte

The unending quest to watch every 1950s sci-fi movie continues. I'd rather watch the original black and white film, but the colourised version was a better quality print and actually looked really nice. www.youtube.com/watch?v=b36Z... #CreaturefromGalaxyX #Nightofthebloodbeast #1950sscifi

下北沢ではジェントリフィケーションが進み、かつての街の活気が失われつつあります。もはや、以前の面影はほとんど残っていません。東京全体もまた、同じ道をたどっているように感じられます。 The gentrification of Shimokitazawa is stripping it of its character. I don’t recognize it anymore. It feels as though all Tokyo is following the same path. #下北沢 #ジェントリフィケーション #Shimokitazawa #gentrification

I’ve just had the great misfortune to sit through Shelby Oaks, the lamest excuse for a horror film I’ve seen in a long time. The dire trailer was a masterpiece compared to the film itself. A film to recommend to people you hate! www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-m1... #ShelbyOaks #Horrorfilms #Badfilms

I seem to be in a minority, but I loved Luc Besson's Dracula. Christoph Waltz was perhaps the fly in the ointment, but Caleb Landry Jones was magnificent. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hver... #Dracula #Dracula:ALoveTale #CalebLandryJones #LucBesson #ZoëBleu #ChristophWaltz #GothicCinema

Watched Robocop 2 for the 1st time in 30 years. Top points for great special effects & the skeleton of Elvis, but lousy direction and a muddled script. For pure escapist enjoyment, Robocop 3 is a better film. #Robocop #Robocop2 #80sfilms #80scinema #scifi #FrankMiller

I've read some dismissive reviews of this anthology, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Rather than horror, it's a voyage into the darker corners of the human psyche. 3 of the stories were dramatised for the excellent TV series of the same name. #booksky #anthology #Talesofunease #JohnBurke #Darkfiction
