So the T-26 is now in primer and the replacement 3D printed tracks should be here on Monday. The turret of the M4 has been completed with a replacement hatch grab handle from copper wire and some photo-etch detailing and then primed #histscalemodels

That’s all the photo-etch added to the T-26 along with all the little fiddly bits (running gear is only dry fitted for ease of painting later). Ready for primer but next job is the tiny workable tracks…#histscalemodels

A bit of work on the M4 and adding texture to the cast steel bow and turret. First step…apply Tamiya extra thin then random stippling with an old cut down brush. Next step will be localised heavier pitting with a dentist bur in a drill but the plastic is still too soft tonight #histscalemodels

We have booked a lovely French cottage overlooking the sea for our week long “Beach” holiday in Normandy starting on the 6 June…..really looking forward to this after our recent road trips to Bastogne and Arnhem over the last couple of years…. Luckily we have wives that also enjoy history….

First bit of modelling this holiday. M4 running gear cleaned up, 4 unused bolt holes drilled into the bogies and missing bolts added to the track skids. The hollow Tamiya rear idlers have been replaced with a pair of spare early style idlers from the, as yet, unbuilt Academy M36 #histscalemodels

Mrs B has gone to bed early, so progressing the Tamiya Sherman with a glass of red wine, Classic FM Movies on the radio and both cats asleep on the office armchair…this is quite relaxing, no PE, no tiny tiny bits of plastic…I could get used to this, after all the hobby is supposed to be relaxing….

My first ever tank model was the Hedgehog way back when it came out in the 1970’s as a young teenager and surprisingly my only M4 to date so, tired of tracks, tonight I’ve started a retro homage to that build using a Tamiya M4 as the base…going to keep this simple….yeah right ! #histscalemodels
