I combined a species that was new to me with a new visual style featuring lots of hard edges, aggressive black ambient occlusion, and harsh rim lighting. These visual effects are new to me, but I really liked them. I think I’ll continue to develop this style further.

Unfortunately it got banned for excessive nudity. I also had to rush to finish it, which meant cutting a lot of corners — so in the end, I’m not really happy with it myself either. A bit of a lose-lose situation, but it happens. Failures are part of the creative process.

And one more funny thing — I rarely draw colorful or patterned clothes because I mostly wear monochrome outfits myself. My personal taste keeps leaking into my art, which isn’t always a good thing, since a character’s sense of style can be very different from mine.

I recently got into adopts and made my first characters for sale, which helped me realize that my character design still needs work. While I can convey personality fairly well, I struggle with creating original clothing and accessories. That’s what I plan to focus on improving in future characters.
