Important! With this week's kernel updates, nvidia-470-glx-driver-current and nvidia-developer-driver-* are being deprecated! If you are using the 470 driver, you will have to switch to the LTS kernel!

Heya, folks! It's time for the first Solus release of 2026! We've made some under-the-hood changes aimed at making it easier and more intuitive for users to manage their systems, and we've addressed some parts of the installation process.

Four desktops in a 2x2 grid. The top left image is using Budgie Desktop. The top right image is using GNOME desktop. The bottom left image is using KDE Plasma desktop. The bottom right image is using Xfce desktop. The Budgie desktop wallpaper shows a boat on the water. The GNOME desktop wallpaper shows a mountain. The Plasma desktop wallpaper shows a tree with orange leaves. The Xfce desktop wallpaper shows a boat with two sails on the water.

You are recommended to export your RSS feeds and copy your filters manually before upgrading, then close/re-open RSSGuard and import your feeds. It will ask you to import your old database. This is located in `${HOME}/.config/RSS Guard 4/database/`.

Solus @getsolus.bsky.social · 18/04/2026

RSSGuard has been updated to 5.0.4. The 5.x series sees a major overhaul to the project. Many things have changed, and some past features may no longer be supported. Custom filters may break, and settings will be reset. The old 4.x series database is not compatible.

Language SDKs and runtimes on Solus (and possibly other distros!) are only meant for other packages in the repository. If you need dotnet for your own uses, you likely want to use dnvm to manage locally installed versions.
