Germy @germy.co.uk · 02/09/2026Ah yes, I was never far away from the GZG stand pestering Jon. These days I'm at the Brigade stand, still pestering. 110
Germy @germy.co.uk · 02/09/2026Never managed to get to Colours, worried there is an imposter out there now, who would want to be me! 😀 110
Germy @germy.co.uk · 09/08/2026My Quar Tractor was in action yesterday in another fun game of Clash of Rhyfles. It survived, but didn’t exactly have a glorious first battle. 0212
Germy @germy.co.uk · 30/07/2026Cheers, yes the model I got was 1/56 scale. The early WW2 tanks are ideal for Quar. 030
Germy @germy.co.uk · 29/07/2026Just looked that up, yes that would work perfectly, think I’ll try one of those for the next one. 120
Germy @germy.co.uk · 29/07/2026Quar tractor is finished. Really pleased with how it came out and the officer giving directions is perfect for the setting. 2837
Germy @germy.co.uk · 27/07/2026Going to finish painting my Quar tank. The main body is an Italian FT3000, I scratch built the turret and could not resist adding a commander giving orders! 1628
Germy @germy.co.uk · 11/07/2026Played a game of Saga for the first time in over a year. Vikings vs Anglo-Danes. Bit bloody but that’s to be expected. 0161
Germy @germy.co.uk · 08/07/2026It’s too hot, cannot be bothered with hobby stuff, so had a bit of practice painting landscape’s. 0100
Germy @germy.co.uk · 25/06/2026Yes I saw that building in the stl catalogue so went with the same round roof style. Didn’t notice the chimney, but ended up with something similar anyway. 010
Germy @germy.co.uk · 21/06/2026I know I shouldn’t complain about the weather, but I’ve got Quar to finish in this heat! 1181
Germy @germy.co.uk · 17/06/2026That’s true, but the bright colours work well so will stick with those. I think it looks better. Might still have multiple colours per tree, or not, I’ll let my muse decide. 010
Germy @germy.co.uk · 17/06/2026Interesting, I might lighten the tree bark a bit and mix up the colours. Thanks for the picture. 110
Germy @germy.co.uk · 17/06/2026Bit unusual this, got bored of painting uniforms so scratch built some Quar trees called Jojub out of hot glue. Yes I know what they look like. Could only find one colour reference for what they look like. 😆 2141
Germy @germy.co.uk · 08/06/2026Did a bit more work on my Quar pluck counter. Went over some of the paint work to tidy it up and changed the bottle colour. Also changed the colour of the counter and printed it to look smarter. 0204
Germy @germy.co.uk · 03/06/2026Painted my first Quar. In the game you get Pluck points so making my own counter. Went with a Quar with wine bottle and baguette picnic, amongst the supplies. I think I’ll change the counter wheel colour to blend in a bit better. 0142
Germy @germy.co.uk · 23/05/2026Forces deployed, played three games of Grimdark Firefight, two draws but for the last game I won comfortably. 0110
Germy @germy.co.uk · 22/05/2026Robot Lords all ready for a game of Grimdark Firefight this weekend. The glow effect on the weapons wasn’t as good as I’d have liked, but generally pleased with these. 0161
Germy @germy.co.uk · 18/05/2026As I’ve been playing Clash of Rhyfles with the Quar, I thought I’d build a house that fit with the the Quar asthetic. Apart from a few coffee stirrers this is made entirely of EVA foam. 0204
Germy @germy.co.uk · 12/05/2026Got another game of Clash of Rhyfles in. It finally convinced me to buy some Quar! 0253
Germy @germy.co.uk · 09/04/2026One of those simple scratch builds. Found this in a bin, I think it’s a tray for some marker pens. Now it’s a refinery of some sort. 1101
Germy @germy.co.uk · 07/04/2026Yeah stop trying to make your job sound cool, the silicone accelerator indeed! 020
Germy @germy.co.uk · 07/04/2026No! Salute first then Armageddon. That way we can build shelters out of our purchases. 030
Germy @germy.co.uk · 28/03/2026Brilliant, that’s just what we needed. I’ll pass that onto the other players. 👍 010
Germy @germy.co.uk · 28/03/2026Yes many big beasts, and we ran out of time, so no conclusion to the battle. Rules were ok, couple of complications regarding line of sight and took a while to work out cluster weapon hits. But we soon got the hang of it. 110
Germy @germy.co.uk · 28/03/2026It’s always been there, played a few games of Alpha Strike, but wanted that old school feel 😎 110
Germy @germy.co.uk · 28/03/2026Although I bought the 2nd edition box set of Battletech back in 1985. I never actually played a game. Thanks to some friends I finally managed a game today, 41 years later 😎 51092
Germy @germy.co.uk · 23/03/2026I’ve got one of those. It also does all the other days of the week. 030
Germy @germy.co.uk · 22/03/2026Found this vinyl figure of Dredd in a box in my mums cellar. I’d thought it was long gone. I built and painted this in 1997! 0213
Germy @germy.co.uk · 18/03/2026Played a game of clash of rhyfles at the club. Always good to try out new rules. It’s very much a skirmish game, with some nice touches, like the activation cards. I did lose both games on the day but it was fun, I’d recommend it. 060
Germy @germy.co.uk · 10/03/2026Thanks, felt the contrast between the natural and artificial was needed for this. 000
Germy @germy.co.uk · 10/03/2026After the previous post I decided to just get on with painting the crater. Quite pleased with the results. 0191
Germy @germy.co.uk · 09/03/2026Made some progress on my crater base. Now need to decide how to paint the crater itself. 2151
Germy @germy.co.uk · 08/03/2026Do it, this base was crying out for this. Even thinking of using bases like this to stick on asteroids for space games. 110
Germy @germy.co.uk · 07/03/2026I acquired a large 3D printed sci-fi base as part of a bundle from www.beowulfminiatures.com but I was never going to have anything that big to put on it. Therefore I’ve put it inside a crater to act as a base for my 3mm/6mm games. 1190
Germy @germy.co.uk · 04/03/2026If it's going to the landfill/dump then keeping it is the best solution (at least that's what I tell myself 😉) 010
Germy @germy.co.uk · 04/03/2026These MDF pieces came from the backing board of an old picture frame. Most picture frames from a pound shop/dollar store have a nice piece of MDF/fiber board you can use. Also I've just thrown out an old Ikea cupboard and saved the backing boards from that for more basing/craft material. 110
Germy @germy.co.uk · 04/03/2026Quick easy build using off cuts of MDF, to be used as sci-fi standing stones. I finally got to use the Krautcover - Eternal Fields Base Cover I got from @badsquiddogames.bsky.social last year! 1435
