I oppose the closing of the National Archives facility in Chicago. The lack of transparency surrounding this decision has only deepened the loss it would represent for researchers, historians, dedicated employees, and our community. I urge the National Archives to reconsider this decision.

I’ve been really impressed with the work of #critcat and folks who are seriously working towards reparative description. I have seen how inaccurate cataloging hurts marginalized folks. Offshoring cataloging to AI feels harmful & unethical, especially if the training model is insufficient or biased.

I have had multiple IUDs and they've truly been a net good in my life, but they've also caused me *way* more pain than any other medical issue or procedure, including the basic insertion and removal, the year I spent with the copper one, and the month I spent with one inserted incorrectly, ugh.

I highly recommend volunteering with Chicago Community Jail Support even if you can only spare one shift a month. I do this and it's incredibly helpful. You're doing very tangible work to help people one-on-one with material needs, while being part of an uncompromisingly abolitionist movement.
