I feel that way in particular about the 3DS. One of the best gaming systems ever.

Unfortunately this was most likely done with AI.

Not sure why they didn’t put solar panels all over the roof to power the damn thing? They chose the easiest way to power the data center rather than the best solution.

Pac-Man was at the laundromat where my mom washed our clothes when I was very little. So, I played it a lot. And my first console would’ve been the Atari 2600. Played Mrs Pac-Man tons on that machine.

it’s a classic and one of my favorite Zelda games.

Awesome!!! Can’t wait to see what it is. 😁

I gave mine away to a friend’s kid. I still have my galaxy themed one as well as the Yoshi one. But I really always wanted the Metroid themed one. Never grabbed one. Ah, regret. Hurts a bit.

I wish these guys had some damn balls. Doesn’t our country’s future and the future of our children matter to these scumbags?

Yes. And tops of large department stores. I don’t understand why we haven’t done any of this yet???

On a retro gaming kick this weekend. Fired up my Genesis and have been going through a lot of my old gaming catalog. Mostly shooters, but then Sonic called to me. Couldn’t help myself.

I’ve also been feeling that way very much lately. The 90s were the shit. Golden era of video games and some amazing alternative music. I very much agree about the healthy lack of connectivity. There’s never any “quiet time” anymore. Stimulation everywhere you go or look. No time to really think.

I’m partial to the orange one. I only have an original standard n64, but if I had a choice back then, I’d go for that one.

Oh man! Bringing back the memories… I loved this magazine and their awful comic character Monitaur. I bought this and several other magazines religiously in the late 80’s and early 90’s

I still love this system. Such a cool design and great tech for the time. Had to give my cousin my NES in order to get the SEGA MASTER SYSTEM when it launched. My grandfather bought it for me at Montgomery Wards department store in a mall that is no longer standing.

Ghouls n ghosts is still one of my favorites on the Genesis. Sooooo good!

Gerald Collings @geraldcollings.bsky.social · 04/07/2026

I did and still have my original genesis carts. The only one I didn’t play or own as Chiki Chiki Boys.

China is no better for other reasons. So the comparison is a bit silly. But you are not wrong about what large corporations and certain wealthy individuals have done to our country.

One of my absolute favorite series. Kevin O Neil and Pat Mills kicked some major ass! Incredible stuff!

Certainly a very bright spot and a hopeful new beginning for Sega in 1999. It was a fantastic console and SEGA did everything right in supporting it. Unfortunately some key 3rd parties refused to back the console. Could have been even more amazing if they had.

010

Gerald Collings @geraldcollings.bsky.social · 19/05/2026

That is not how to break away from the norm or to stand out in a good way. lol. Making something worth playing that’s both fun and says something is how you do that. Instead of standing out, this is more like doubling down on the crappy ideas and policies guiding AAA development.

These kids are graduating hoping to use what they’ve learned at college to start their careers and this is how she starts her speech?! Ai is not a revolution, it’s theft of human agency and self determination. It further enslaves us to corporations and their agendas.

I need to rewatch the original film. Soooooo good. This looks decent.

Virtual Fighter 2 was absolutely gorgeous on the Saturn, The Panzer Dragoon series, including the RPG - “Saga” would be my next choice, followed by SEGA Rally - the best home port of the arcade. I also love Fighters Megamix. And Nights would be an absolute must.

I wouldn’t say fucked up. I think this is exactly what was intended by the dev team. My daughter created a mii with a butt face and a butthole mouth. Absolute genius.

Gerald Collings @geraldcollings.bsky.social · 30/04/2026

Exactly how I feel now. Tech has also been made increasingly clunky, overly complex to interact with for no good reason. And a lot of times it just doesn’t work or breaks too easily.

090

Gerald Collings @geraldcollings.bsky.social · 30/04/2026

It’s definitely one of the creepiest moments I can think of in the franchise. Pretty awesome, too. After that I was a little more anxious exploring
