Our letter in today’s @theguardian on the assisted dying Bill - with full list of signatories. Last week, a group of lawyers, judges and academics described the proposed panel amendment as ‘sensible and practical’. It may be ‘practical’. But is it safe?

Cover of The Lancet's Jan 11, 2025 issue. Quote on cover reads: "Norms from high-income countries about what constitutes a good death have been exported and influence practice globally, often at odds with local death and dying systems."

A pleasure to attend the 'Policy recommendations for palliative dementia care' event at the House of Lords on Wednesday, bringing together politicians, policymakers, stakeholders and researchers to encourage a change in the way we care for those with dementia

Disappointing to hear about the state of Internal Medicine Training applications; candidates with stronger portfolios than I had at the same stage not even getting an interview. Recruitment should be geared towards promising early career doctors, not those with 6+ years experience already
