Dejan Kulusevski on Ange Postecoglou being the right man and how it’s “not OK” to play in four competitions with “10 to 11 fit players” #thfc www.independent.co.uk/sport/footba...

Dejan Kulusevski convinced Ange Postecoglou remains ‘right man’ for Tottenham

Spurs remain well placed in the Carabao Cup, Europa League and FA Cup.

Another big one for #THFC or are they all big between now and end of season? 😅 James Maddison stepped up on Thursday and Ange Postecoglou will hope to see same again today vs #LCFC www.independent.co.uk/sport/footba...

Ange Postecoglou hoping for more James Maddison ‘moments’ against Leicester

Spurs are 15th after a run of five defeats in six Premier League fixtures amid a growing injury crisis.

#NLD preview. Spurs without at least eight players but some big calls for Ange Postecoglou I predict #thfc: Kinsky; Porro, Dragusin, Gray, Spence; Bergvall, Bissouma, Maddison; Kulusevski, Solanke, Son www.independent.co.uk/sport/footba...

independent.co.uk

Ange Postecoglou: Dominic Solanke has exceeded expectations – with more to come

Solanke has scored 11 times and provided six assists for Tottenham since a £65million summer switch.

George Sessions @georgesessions.bsky.social · 12/01/2025

That was the one I debated most. I think Ange will go with Porro given he got a rest v Forest recently and is one you can definitely count on today. Sure Reguilon be fine but if going gets tough, will be battle through. We’ll find out in 30 mins though how wrong I am 😅

George Sessions @georgesessions.bsky.social · 12/01/2025

Ange Postecoglou hinted to me on Friday that Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke will be on the bench at Tamworth, which would be a welcome breather. I can see #thfc XI: Kinsky; Porro, Dragusin, Gray, Spence; Sarr, Bergvall, Maddison; Moore, Lankshear, Werner www.independent.co.uk/sport/footba...

independent.co.uk

Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke could get a rest at Tamworth

Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke have started each of Tottenham’s last seven matches.

Antonin Kinsky firmly on the way to cult hero status after a very fine display with both his hands and feet vs #LFC. A young man with brilliant confidence and ability #thfc www.independent.co.uk/sport/footba...

independent.co.uk

I am happy – Antonin Kinsky could not have dreamed of a better Tottenham debut

Kinsky only completed a permanent transfer to Spurs on Sunday from Slavia Prague.

George Sessions @georgesessions.bsky.social · 09/01/2025

I was surprised to see this and hear Ange say it post-match. Do wonder if Bergvall's tackle does fall under "cynical" category though. Either way, think this squad deserved a night like last night. Been through so much and finally got some reward.

What a night for Lucas Bergvall and one richly deserved. Yes, he got an element of luck to avoid a second yellow card but he’s worked tirelessly to improve since he joined #THFC. A big talent uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/lucas-b...

This match is up there amongst my favourites as a journalist to cover. Genuine pleasure to watch a star be born in Michael Olise. Everyone knew he would go to the top after this #cpfc

Amen. Ignore it until March. I will! Just hope he’s still in charge by then. Big one Wednesday.

110

George Sessions @georgesessions.bsky.social · 04/01/2025

Yep, this could have been a 3-0 or 4-1 and all things considered, deserved at least a point and maybe more. Another defeat but performance is something to cling onto going into Wednesday. Players still firmly behind Ange and that’s telling. He just needs some of the 10/11 to return soon 🙏🏻

010

George Sessions @georgesessions.bsky.social · 04/01/2025

Tbf, Ange’s gripe is with officials. He was very complimentary of #NUFC on Friday and pointed out how many injuries you guys had in this fixture in 2023. Just a bit flabbergasted at 11 players out and “luck” or whatever you want to call it being out. I hope you make top-4 though. Like Howe a lot.

Full-time: Tottenham 1 Newcastle 2. Tough on an injury-ravaged Spurs who did create late chances, but could not equalise. Solanke's early goal was the perfect start. Gordon's controversial leveller killed momentum before Isak struck winner. 5 PL defeats in 7 but 10 players out. Got to feel for Ange.

George Sessions @georgesessions.bsky.social · 04/01/2025

Ange has sent for Son, Maddison and Bissouma, who are all getting striped and ready to come on. Half an hour less for the trio to pull their finger out. What's the chances of Maddison scoring and doing the darts celebration? 1-2. 61'

000

George Sessions @georgesessions.bsky.social · 04/01/2025

Sergio Reguilon being introduced for the second half. It seems to be for Radu Dragusin, who was one of the players a big doubt before kick-off due to illness. Djed Spence joins Archie Gray as a makeshift centre-back pairing. 1-2. 46'

George Sessions @georgesessions.bsky.social · 04/01/2025

Half-time: Tottenham 1 Newcastle 2. Spurs started brilliantly with Solanke heading home before Gordon produced a controversial leveller with Joelinton's handball declared accidental by VAR. Yet visitors lead after Isak got last touch to Murphy's dangerous cross. Hosts, minus 10, battled well though.

000

George Sessions @georgesessions.bsky.social · 04/01/2025

GOAL #NUFC! Visitors take the lead through in-form Alexander Isak. Pressure had been growing but Spurs had coped fairly well until Murphy is able to produce another dangerous ball across the box and Dragusin can only touch it onto Isak's boot. 1-2. 37'

000

George Sessions @georgesessions.bsky.social · 04/01/2025

GOAL #NUFC! Instant reply by the visitors through Anthony Gordon. Joelinton handled in the build-up and Ange has his arms out stretched in disbelief yet the goal is awarded. It was definitely handled by Joelinton before Gordon arrowed into the bottom corner, but not enough to overturn it. 1-1. 6'

000

George Sessions @georgesessions.bsky.social · 04/01/2025

GOAL #THFC! WHAT A START. Bergvall carries the ball half the length of the pitch, finds Johnson and he tees up Porro to cross in for Solanke to head into the bottom corner. Brilliant team goal. Goal No.11 for Solanke. 1-0. 4'

H/t to Squawka, this is Tottenham's youngest starting line-up in a Premier League match since March 2015 vs QPR. Average age of this XI is 23 years and 336 days. Is this the Poch moment for Ange? Can only hope... #thfc

Spurs on the verge of signing another young player, but Antonin Kinsky does have very good experience for a 21-year-old goalkeeper. 29 appearances for Slavia Prague this season and 14 clean sheets. Deal worth around £12.5million and medical today. Kinsky primed to be new long-term back-up GK #thfc

George Sessions @georgesessions.bsky.social · 28/12/2024

If Radu Dragusin does not recover Spurs will be without nine players vs Wolves. It has been that way for pretty much the whole of December but that doesn’t suit the narrative does it 🤷🏻‍♂️ #thfc www.independent.co.uk/sport/footba...

Well, they do say it is a game of opinions! Fair enough if that is your view. I didn't start supporting Spurs properly until early 00s but I feel this current team feels the most exciting to watch since Poch's 16-18 team. Plenty of areas to improve but so many good things to build on.

A point will do. Spurs still in a strong position to finish in top-8 of #UEL and some positives there. Kulusevski delivered again, Gray did an admirable job at CB, Forster again top and decent cameo from Bergvall. Negatives? Porro cannot play twice a week. Son & Maddison still off it. Work for Ange.

Not at Ibrox unfortunately but did wonder if Bissouma may start given his upcoming ban. Solanke the latest to be taken out of the firing line - perhaps with Saints, Man U & Liverpool in mind. Son missed chances vs Chelsea but had more conviction in his play. Hopefully he can get on a run now #thfc

Full-time: Tottenham 3 Chelsea 4. A big three points for the visitors who come from two down to close the gap on Liverpool after Cole Palmer produces more magic. A bitter pile to swallow for Spurs, who grabbed early goals from Solanke & Kulusevski, but ran out of steam. More injuries too. Tough day.
