My sense is that the hike in employer national insurance of 1.25% is going to have a meaningful and possibly significant impact on jobs as we head into 2025. Allied to the rise in NMW - many businesses are feeling the pinch and need to cut costs.

UK economy has entered a technical recession with real GDP contracting by 0.3% in the final quarter of 2023. The bigger news I think is that growth is essentially flat over the last year and real per capita incomes dropped by 0.7% in 2023.
