SN 2026kid, a type II supernova (death of a massive star) discovered on 22.04 in the galaxy NGC 5906, some 46 Mly away. The SN appears considerably reddened, probably by interactions with its circumstellar medium. Let the follow-up campaing begin ! 🤩 #astronomy #extragalactic_astronomy #astrosci

SN 2026dix, type II supernova discovered mid-february in the galaxy NGC 3913. Captured here in tricky conditions with high clouds. Managed to measure it at mag 15,28+/-0.073 with clear filter. Two years ago... A giant star collapsed in the M101 galaxy, resulting in a magnificent Type-II supernova named sn2023ixf. I searched the LCO Global Obs archives and found valuable datas from that period, and managed to calculate a lightcurve for this exceptionnal event. #astronomy #extragalactic
