You've assumed it's all MoD-fed. Most of it is tip-offs, FOI returns, Hansard, procurement records and open source. That's material obtained because the department didn't volunteer it, which is rather the opposite of what you're describing.

You are conflating reporting with commentary. A quoted, attributed statement with context is standard practice. It is not my role to decide political “credit” for you. If you are ignoring parts of the article because they come later, that’s not a failure of journalism.

You’re asking for commentary, not reporting. The article quotes a verifiable statement, attributes it, and includes the relevant context and response. It is not a reporter’s job to assign political “credit” or adjudicate contested claims for you. If you’ve skipped parts of it, that’s on you.

This can get pretty tiring when people don't really understand how news reporting works, how do you even respond to this? UKDJ publishes items from all parties, even a written series by the SNP defence spokesman, how do you explain that reporting remarks isn't the same as agreeing with remarks?

What about the series written by the SNP defence spokesman and published by the UK Defence Journal, or even today, an item from Dave Doogan MP criticising the UK Government? The job of a news website isn't to defend a stance, it's to publish information. You seem unaware reporting is not endorsing.
