I bought a WiiU years after it was written off as a flop so I could play Wii games. Wii and WiiU games are fun but I'm not a huge fan of the motion controller so I usually play with a WiiI Pro controller. The online store was fantastic and I miss that could buy older Nintendo games digitally.

We had a NES but I went for the Sega Genesis not the SNES. I have many great memories playing the Sonic games, Urban Strike and Road Rash but it was with the PlayStation that I fell in love with gaming.

I had to drop a like to anyone showing love to Parasite Eve. Not just the PSX Square hits of Final Fantasy VII and IX but Final Fantasy Anthology as well. I didn't have the SNES so I missed that era of Final Fantasy games but Anthology having both FFV and FFVI was huge.

You'll have fun with those. Okami is one 'Zelda Killer' that lives up to the hype. It's a fantastic adventure game with stunning aesthetics. Don't know if the ink brush gameplay will feel as revolutionary for you as it was for me and others back on the PS2.

When I was a child I had mad skills at claw machine games but lost the touch I had with them. Today I see this cute little Scottish Highland Cow Plushie standing out as a perfect target in a claw machine at a restaurant. I'm only going to buy 1 pull for $1. Got him in that one go.

I love my blue DS XL but it now has a full line of dead pixels across the lower screen. It still feels great in my hands and was my favorite way to play DS hardware. Never owned a DSi Lite as I have an original DS, the gray chunky one, that I still use for my GBA games.

I've played video games since my childhood with the NES and Sega Genesis. However it wasn't until the PlayStation and Suikoden 2 that made me a gamer.

Chocobos. In whatever color or size they come in there is nothing more Iconic in Final Fantasy than the humble and lovable Chocobo.

You have great taste in PS2 games with some real great hidden gems. Okage Shadow King Phantom Brave Magna Carta: Tears of Blood Shadow Hearts Shadow Hearts: Covenant Shadow Hearts: From the New World Makes me want to dust off my PS2.

He's right about somethings here. Metaphor Refantazio is definitely a top 10 or top 5 JRPG. It's everything I love about Persona set in high fantasy and without the high school simulator. Twilight Princess is the best Zelda game I will fight and die on this hill.

I love CyberConnect2 games and Tail Concerto is still one of my favorites. Kinda messed up that the FUGA: Melodies of Steel trilogy (WW2 with Cat and dog people and a fortress battle tank that eats the souls of children to fine it's super cannon) is a an official prequel to Tail Concerto.

There is an interesting dynamic with older Pokémon games. Aesthetics: A fun adventure with your menagerie of monster friends. Mechanics: Old school JRPG battle grind fest with a high encounter rate. Pokémon Yellow will always have place in my heart but it is a chore to play as an adult.

Funnily enough I just bought a new PSP charging cable after I misplaced my old cable. I'm sure it's in a pile of old cables somewhere but I saw 2nd party replacement for sale at retro video game store and picked it up. My old PSP still runs like a champ.

PS3 Gems. inFAMOUS 1 & 2. Feels these aren't talked about much anymore. Amazing superhero action games with original IP. They are such great heroic or villainous power fantasies. I like inFAMOUS 2 more with it's setting of 'Not New Orleans' and Vampire DLC. Sony please make a new inFamous game.

PS3 Gem. Folklore. Action RPG set in a Irish seaside village full of Celtic fae and mystery. Battle using the powers of captured fae as you journey between the human world and the Otherworld. Not the most graphically impressive PS3 game but it has a strong sense of style and artistry.

I've been diving back into PS3 games and I want to highlight a few gems. 3D Dot Game Heroes. Lots of games try to be 'Zelda Killers' but this game is parody homage to old school isometric Zelda. The setting is very tongue in cheek but the game play is fantastic isometric action.

My major issue was there was so little exsporlation of the character's history and motivations. Why is Sazh a single father? Why are Lightning, Serah and Snow orphans? I think the only character who had a story arc was Hope but I stopped playing shortly after the party arrived on Pulse.

I may have been too hard on Final Fantasy XIII for it's gameplay given FFXV and FFVI hard swings into the Action genre. I've been revisiting my PS3 games with the online story closing and I may have stop off for a bit in FFXIII. Maybe time has changed my some of my negative feelings about it.

With the closing the PS3 and PS Vita stores this month I have a few recommendations. Disgaea 3 has a Vita port that is a bit more reined. Disgaea D2 is on the PSN but only as part of the "Members Only" service. Both games have some great DLC they you may want to grab before its too late.

3rd place. Persona 2: Eternal Punishment will also me my favorite game in the series followed by Persona 5. I don't think the first hours of Persona 5 would hit me as hard if I hadn't played Persona 4 back on the PS2. Hyped for the Persona 4 remake.

I have spent much of this afternoon turning a big unorganized mess of physical video games into a several slightly more organized messes before trying to sort them. I got my PS2, PS3, Xbox360, GameCube, Wii and WiiU games mostly handled. (It's still not organized or cataloged by anyone's standard)

A book shelf packed full of PS2, PS3, GameCube, Wii, WiiU and Xbox 360 video games cases.

With the PS3 store closing soon I logged in to see what it had. I have a download voucher for the Infamous Collection that I bought used several years back. I just assumed it had been redeemed already. Yet that 14 year old voucher still worked. Why can't you be cool like this all the time Sony?

Suikoden 2. If I had to pick one RPG as my favorite of all it is Suikoden 2. I'm so hyped that Konomi remember they own the Suikoden IP and doing something with it again.

Switch 2 joycons are an improvement. However when the joycons are in the cradle they still feel subpar to me. They work fine and feel better than the Switch. Still once you feel the improved quality, size, weight, texture and button layout of the Switch 2 Pro controller it's worth it.

Nice, I hope you have a great time with it. I love the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 as game consoles but I find the joycons feel kind of meh in my hands. So I think a Pro-Controller is a must for any new Switch or Switch 2 owner.

I love Final Fantasy X-2. The return of a customizable job system was fantastic. I even like the over the top Jpop look of those jobs and classes. The combat was also the best of all the Final Fantasy games on the PS2.

Honestly I never saw the Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster as nostalgia pandering. I thought they were going after the HD2D SRPG market that Triangle Strategy opened up. FFT did a lot shape the SRPG space for gamers but it's a well that Square Enix doesn't draw from often.

You had to be there to really feel that jump in graphics form the PS1 to the PS2. I'm a PlayStation fan boy but the whole 6th Gen form the GameCube and Xbox were all unlike anything that came before on consoles. Still my favorite Generation of video games.

This maybe be a vanilla take but my favorite Final Fantasy IX character is Zidane. Zidane is fun, charming, romantic and sometimes foolish but at his core he's a very kind person. Also near the end when he finds his lost 'home' and 'people' it gives me chills to this day. youtu.be/Ha6iWPqrJeE?...

Also it's not like saying Gen Number is somehow less of a mental burden than just clearly saying the tile of the Pokemon game you're talking about. X/Y are my favorite Pokemon games but it's takes me moment to recall the Gen Number.

I would pay full price right now and again on lunch if they announced a FFIX Remake. (I'd settle for the FFVIII Remaster treatment as the digital version of FFIX doesn't do it any favors) I love Final Fantasy IX and I think it holds up the best of the three classic PS1 Final Fantasy games.
