Mostly analogue / chemical photography. Returned to film in 2020. Cameras used are Konica, Argus, Lomo, and FED for the most part. There will probably be very little "great" photography here, as I enjoy stumbling along the learning curve.

In spite of all of the little boys stomping around, rattling their sabres, and shouting into bullhorns, every once in a while, you encounter a Real Man. This is fantastic.

I have one! It's a gorgeous camera, even though Polaroid probably stopped making instant roll film in the 90s. Some people have modified them to take regular 120 film. I have no desire to alter mine at all. I'm thinking about putting one sheet of modern Polaroid film in it at a time.

Beautiful shot. I take my cameras with me, but am mostly concerned with just getting out and trying to LIVE these days.

I tried watching it in B&W, but noticed that I was missing details that were a little more obvious in color. Not a hill I'd choose to die on, but I liked the "Tru-Color" palette, based on 1930s color movies.

Sauce for BOTH fish AND potato chips? Wow. Get me summa that potato chip sauce STAT! Especially if it's vegan. 🤣 But cirrusly, that's weird.

As I recall, the St. Michael prayer was written by Pope Leo XIII, who also warned his people against the evils of rampant capitalism. Pope Leo was one of the original Catholic social justice warriors back during that other gilded age. Vance probably knows that, but he prefers the "tough guy" stuff.

Ah yes, the fear of the male nipple was REAL. As functional as a mole, but it must have haunted a lot of good people at night back in the day. Pic of my favorite Tarzan, Frank Merrill.

House reminded me of an Ortho doc who had all of the bedside manner of a rusty nail. "Lose weight or buy crutches." I'd already lost eighty pounds by that point, and that didn't change the fact that I NEEDED knee surgery.

Okay, I'm someone with a grad degree in Catholic theology -- NONE of those signs are even pretending to be the Nicene Creed. None. Is he trying and failing to sound deep? What's more, his MAGA clientele are mostly "Bible only Christians" anyway, and they have no use for a "man made creed" at all.

I remember, quite well, how the church ladies would call Melania a dignified, graceful First Lady. Meanwhile, they thought that Jill Biden dressed like a trollop, and that she was the total opposite of anything they could possibly respect.

It's the voice of a bully, and bullies are all about robbing one of personal autonomy. As a creative who has spent a lifetime developing what skills I have, AI generated art, design, etc. is deeply insulting. It is tech designed to eliminate jobs & make us passive. Period.

Odd film photography related memory: a few years ago, my wife and I took the accessible tour of the Mammoth Caves in Kentucky. Among the random stuff that previous visitors had left behind was a used Instamatic flash cube, untouched for Ford knows how many years.

I know that they were specially oiled to function in extreme cold, but yes, a thin plastic "match box" with a decent lens does seem to be an interesting choice .

I know that the Russians ascended Everest with some specially prepared Lomo Smena cameras. It looks as if none of those plastic fantastics made it into this collection. Or, perhaps, none survived.

I know she's had a consistent career, but over the past thirty years, I've thought that Rene Russo, now 72, should be a bigger deal. It's laughable how, at the time, people seemed shocked -- shocked, I tell you -- that a woman in her forties could have a chance in Hollywood.

Are you cutting down 120 film for it? That's the size of film my grandfather used to use in the 1960s. I'm glad to see someone is experimenting with it.

Human interaction -- at least in the US -- IS kind of traumatic these days. It's all improv, lacks clear cut rules, and is an arena of constant risk. Even being ignored is preferable to being pinned down like a butterfly on a display board. The stress is constant. Welcome to 2026.

I have enough struggles with myself Do I LOOK as if I've lost 172 lb? Nope! But I have. Do I look as if I've not had sweets since 2012? Also no. Do I look as if I exercise regularly? Nuh-uh. And yet, I know people judge. Let's be kind.

Where I live in the Midwest, mass transit is 1) definitely beta, and 2) the last resort of the poor and POC. Fighting traffic and complaining about parking prices is what a Real Man™ does. But yeah, a CEO probably patted his head too.

Putting I-Tyoe into a 600 cartridge? Wow, that sounds great. I haven't heard that suggested before. I just recently put an original OneStep back into action using 600 film & a filter. No flash, which tends to be an issue, but otherwise, a bit of fun.

I arrived as a fan of the silents -- yes, I loved those old 1960s silent comedy compilation films as a boy, and grew from there -- but stayed for the art talk.

I can't believe that I still see "Joe and the Ho Must Go" stickers in my neighborhood. And they truly wanted to believe that about her. But somehow, 47's ACTUAL dealings with women and girls was either denied outright or was just his own private business. Incredible.

This reminds me of when a friend and I saw The Batman in the theater. Everything was so dark, so murky, so desaturated, and so drenched in rain that we began to giggle. I was almost surprised that no one pulled out a flashlight in the hospital room scene. 🤣

"Previously, we had assumed that currency or barter would be needed in order to obtain food. This appears to be wrong. The being, seen in isolation with an immense amount of food, presents the object to its sensory nodes for inspection. It has found the cache of food before its enemies."

Any part of a model that was cloth was depicted in white. It was a choice. For the diving suit, which I don't have a picture of, it was an intensely spooky choice.

At the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI, they currently have a Leonardo da Vinci exhibit. No original works, but life size or larger prints of his paintings and mock ups of inventions from his notebooks. The picture here shows a huge attempt at building da Vinci's flying batwing device.

I have very little experience with toxic colors. I received some training by Russian iconographers who were using genuine Vermillion, and it was absolutely outstanding. It made synthetic Vermillion look like a lead pipe by comparison.
