Gentle Crocodile @gentlecrocodile.bsky.social · 13/08/2026Your post defends Flock cameras more than mine does, by suggesting that there is a huge missing children problem. 100 0
Gentle Crocodile @gentlecrocodile.bsky.social · 13/08/2026There are just over 70 million kids in the US. Suppose 350,000 kids disappear and aren't found per year. That's 1 in 200 kids. So then total risk ages 0-18 would be about 1 in 10. Every kid would have a bunch of friends who had disappeared without a trace. Gentle Crocodile @gentlecrocodile.bsky.social · 12/08/2026You do realize that almost all of those missing child reports wind up with the kid being found, right? 400,000 is 10% of annual births in the US. There is not some society-wide "millions of kids disappeared and we haven't bothered to look for them." 110 0

Gentle Crocodile @gentlecrocodile.bsky.social · 29/07/2026The partisan/cohort disagreement about labels is probably larger than the actual disagreement about more clearly defined versions of the concepts. Most are running Princeton offenses or similar. So you can either shoot >60% by only shooting on backdoor cuts, or by being insanely talented. 000 0
Gentle Crocodile @gentlecrocodile.bsky.social · 11/06/20262FG% is a weird statistic: Of the 25 teams that have shot >60% on 2s, 15 failed to make the tourney, but six of the ten teams which made the tourney were 1-seeds (counting Dayton in 2020). 100 0
