Genosho @genosho.bsky.social · 26/08/2026Is it a straight up TRPG or is it something that someone who has never enjoyed a TRPG going to enjoy? You mentioned it being close to KOTOR, but is that because of the gameplay or just the overall feel of the game? 100

Genosho @genosho.bsky.social · 10/06/2026If you want to give #FFXI a try, might I suggest making a character on Ragnarok. We're mid-range as far as server populations, so if you have a group of friends that want to join you, it's a great place to be without feeling like it's empty as the lower pop servers 020
Genosho @genosho.bsky.social · 10/06/2026This might be fruitless, but does anybody on here know where I can find a site that has Final Fantasy 11 .dat mods? All of the sites I remember from 20 years ago are dead or malware 🥺 #FFXI 121

Genosho @genosho.bsky.social · 22/05/2026It was, and still is, incredibly well designed in that respect. A control scheme and UI update would probably make it a contender again, especially with Zoomers who seem to have discovered that our games were actually difficult back in the day — and they like it. 010
Genosho @genosho.bsky.social · 22/05/2026Logged into my old #FFXI account and that game is still dangerous as ever. By dangerous I mean that you will get into a leveling rhythm and suddenly it's multiple hours later. Vana'diel is, by design, meant to keep you engaged because unless you are in a city, you aren't safe. 130

Genosho @genosho.bsky.social · 23/10/2025This is more ammo for the "going third party" argument. The systems they plan on releasing are just mid-low end Windows 11 PCS with Xbox branding on them 100
Genosho @genosho.bsky.social · 19/09/2025Our county voted to stop paying for a share of retiree healthcare, vision, and dental. This includes previous retirees. Their reasoning? To save $80k per year and then spend that on armored police vehicles that we absolutely do not need out here 🙃 000
Genosho @genosho.bsky.social · 01/09/2025Other problems include issues with various aspects of quest tracking and navigation, some of those having been improved by 3rd party add-ons, but it's sad to see it never got the attention from the devs it deserves. 000
Genosho @genosho.bsky.social · 01/09/2025It's been 14 years since I've played it, and they have added a bunch of QoL stuff to the gameplay, but failed to address the controls. It's essentially been in maintenance mode for nearly a decade now, but it's a damn shame that they never fixed this issue. 100
Genosho @genosho.bsky.social · 01/09/2025Reactivated #FinalFantasyXI again just for grins and giggles. In 2025 this game is all but unplayable *if* you play any other modern MMOs. There is a standard control scheme that all modern MMOs use, but they never updated FFXI for it, even after dropping PS2 support. 110

Genosho @genosho.bsky.social · 10/08/2025Reading through the replies to that and this quote post, it seems that the biggest problem is the US's lack of public transportation infrastructure for people who need to be there physically. Genosho @genosho.bsky.social · 10/08/2025#Battlefield6 feels great to play. I say that as a person who swore off military shooters a decade ago, though I mainly blame CoD oversaturation for that I did try warzone once, hated it. 000
