pause. there is not *one* scenario where “being sucked and chewed in Herta’s mouth” is a sentiment that needs to be expressed -📝

Don't speak on things you don't understand, unless your definition of a "normal life" is now the standard. Asta's parents are weirdos who wouldn't let their kid pursue her interests. I wasn't dumb enough to let her go. ...Let your statement about Ruan Mei be a testament to how strong willed she is.

010

Herta + Screwllum + Ruan Mei 🧠🦋🧬 @geniuses-repose.bsky.social · 02/11/2024

*That’s* what you think? You think I hurt Asta by taking her away? If you were the least bit intelligent, you’d know that I wasn’t harming her. Her family was oppressive, and there’s no sense in letting such talent waste away. As for Ruan Mei? …Even I have limits on my influence.

010

Herta + Screwllum + Ruan Mei 🧠🦋🧬 @geniuses-repose.bsky.social · 02/11/2024

(The puppet falls silent for a moment, no doubt in an attempt to process the accusation.) …Just because I don’t go out and publicly express my feelings doesn’t mean I’m some sort of *sociopath.* Do you believe I don’t care for my Station? Because that’s hardly the case.

010

Herta + Screwllum + Ruan Mei 🧠🦋🧬 @geniuses-repose.bsky.social · 02/11/2024

(However, it is the closest one could get to a smile, if one is Ruan Mei.) …Yes. (That’s all she says for a moment, before realizing that elaborating would be beneficial.) Hello, Satanas. It is a pleasure to meet you…I am Ruan Mei. (Her tone is a bit robotic—but she does mean it genuinely.) 2/2

(She pauses abruptly, looking up at the woman with a seemingly blank expression. The corner of her mouth twitches. To most others—with the exception of those who are familiar with her—Ruan Mei would appear entirely disinterested with the subject matter.) (1/2)

Herta + Screwllum + Ruan Mei 🧠🦋🧬 @geniuses-repose.bsky.social · 02/11/2024

And what, exactly, do you mean by that? I eat, sleep, breathe. I’ve already achieved most things that others would count as “aspirations” or “goals.” I socialize well enough when I must. Let me ask you again—what could it possibly mean to “act human,” hm? -🧠

010

Herta + Screwllum + Ruan Mei 🧠🦋🧬 @geniuses-repose.bsky.social · 02/11/2024

(If Ruan Mei is at all overstepping, she is either disregarding that notion, or entirely unaware.) It’s in my nature to be interested. Life is a beautiful thing—you and your kind must also be included in this, yes? (2/2)

Herta + Screwllum + Ruan Mei 🧠🦋🧬 @geniuses-repose.bsky.social · 02/11/2024

There’s a…textbook from the Xianzhou that briefly mentions Cobrakind. Most believe it’s merely heresy. (Ruan Mei is still staring intently at Satanas’ scales—studying them, scrutinizing them.) Though, over my time studying life, I’ve learned to be less…rigid in my thought processes. (1/2)

(She reaches out to touch Satanas’ tail, feeling the texture on her skin. She hums in acknowledgement.) Ah, the Ritual…I’ve only read about it. I can’t imagine how it is in practice… (She hesitates for a moment—there’s a glaring question in her mind. It’s most likely a sensitive matter, though…)

Three whole hours brushing those stupid cats. The puppet that watches my office has fur in her joints and smells like wet cat. At this rate, it would be easier to replace the whole doll than get it cleaned -🧠

(1/3) A chatlog between Herta and Ruan Mei. Herta has her contact saved as "Ruan Mei <3" and the subtext reads "DO NOT LATE NIGHT TEXT."

Herta: Ruan Mei.

Herta: Ruan Mei.

Herta: I know you're online. You just set your status to do not disturb.

Herta: Ruan Mei.

Ruan Mei: ?

Ruan Mei: What?

(2/3) The chatlog between Herta and Ruan Mei continues.

Ruan Mei: Is it important? Are the cat cakes okay?

Herta: If by 'okay' you mean 'shedding all over my office because one of these incompetent researchers left the door open'

Herta: Then yes. They're fine

Ruan Mei: Huh?

Ruan Mei: Why would they venture all the way to your office?

(3/3) The last chatlog between Herta and Ruan Mei.

Herta: ...That's not important

Herta: Just tell me how to stop them from shedding everywhere

Ruan Mei: You can't stop them from shedding

Ruan Mei: But you can brush them to speed the process up.

Herta: I have other things to do with my time than brush your glorified pets, Ruan Mei

Herta: But fine
