I've made no secret of my sympathy for the people of Palestine or my hatred for Israeli expansionism, but just as it is wrong to conflate Palestinian civilians with Hamas, it is wrong to conflate Israeli civilians with the perpetrators of the Gaza Genocide. This conflict is not black and white.

I appreciate the commentary in Part II of Fortune's Weave regarding the practice of "living off the land." It obviously inflicts suffering on the locals, but if an army can't be supplied from home, it can withdraw, loot, or starve. Even buying from locals hinges on the latter being willing to sell.

Either Dante's exaggerating, the writers didn't do their research, or Dante's nuts. A thirty-act play, unless the acts were much shorter than those of a typical real-world play, would take multiple days to perform.

The downside, of course, is that a character who had vastly more overall support can lose at the last minute if enough players come in on the opposing side when there's a multiplier in their favor.

I suspect the rationale was that it would give characters who are way behind a realistic shot at catching up, thus ensuring players remain invested in a fight for its entire duration. If a character gains an insurmountable lead early on, players aren't going to have any reason to continue the fight.

It's because of how the gauntlet is designed. Votes are not equal; if a character is very far ahead, then for a set period of time, votes for the other character are worth much more. Edelgard has been defeated at the last minute multiple times because of this mechanic.
