Cheers! Just finished a nice glass of rioja in front of Strictly. Stress headaches unfortunately have made a comback so not sure rioja was a wise choice (but it was tasty!) #confinedcocktails

Working from home with cats... lap top with policies to review just out of shot....

There used to be a funicular railway up, and a beautiful walk along the cliffs too

010

Gen3cats @gen3cats.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Its been 20 years but there was a camera obscura on the cliff top and a brilliant independent cinema in Aber. If the weather improves the castle is worth a look and a v impressive wave cut platform and highly stratified cliffs (did Geology gcse....)

#UnconfinedWalks to pick up tickets for our holiday next month. Took the scenic route and was rewarded by pretty steps snoozing dog. Also the solar panels on the car park always cheer me up

I did ask if he still had the book and wanted to deposit it....

Also had a work thing this afternoon. Got lots of names put on photos and spoke to a member of the Corpus Cocktail Society (est. 2006 i think... only lasted a couple of years but did have over 100 cocktails on their books). Now strictly with cats... #ConfinedCocktails

Beautiful late summer #UnconfinedWalks with youngest. Still not at school, still no support from school as she isnt failing (yet) and no support from the GP (doesn't believe in medicating children but finally referred for counselling). But scrumped a fig, saw a squirrel and plenty of sloe bushes

Eldest is missing having pets so now goes on a nightly ghecko hunt and has named her favourite Mikey...

Cooking Sunday lunch for 2. Been a very long time since this was a thing so suspect timings will be slightly off as well as quantities...

Is Ted's Shed red and has a bed in it? Its been at least a decade since we last read it.... brilliant milestone

Have a belated hen do?! Just do it considerately lol

000

Gen3cats @gen3cats.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

Was told initial itinierary today so have told Bride I will definitely just go to the Saturday day time... apparently there is also another lower key hen do in March too for the 'all age hens' .... sigh. Obv this is 2nd wedding so ramping it up considerably

The final definitely played to Anna's strengths and I think Beth's piece was better in both the transformation and the last challenge

130

Gen3cats @gen3cats.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

We saw it last week and really enjoyed it (more than the Sewing Bee final! RIGGED lol)

If it makes you feel any better our boiler has low pressure due to a leaky pipe somewhere, I tried to increase the pressure and found the leak by water running down a wall... i'm still trying to find a plumber who will come out. Oh and gave up trying to coax 15 year old to school at 1.30pm. Sigh

110

Gen3cats @gen3cats.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

I was hoping that because several have children under 6 that it would have been a bit more thoughtful!

100

Gen3cats @gen3cats.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Thank you thats very sweet but several of us have already asked if we can just do the Saturday! Its not just the hotel (travelodge I think) but all the extra meals, drinks etc too. She is just planning her normal city break with fiance I think! The only other hen I know is also Sat only

110

Gen3cats @gen3cats.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Ah I thought they banned that? I noticed the chalk markings keeping punt chauffeurs in line for Scudamores on Silver Street keep reappearing every few days this summer...

100

Gen3cats @gen3cats.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Wonder how many tourists start that route and after 15 minutes wonder where on earth they are....

100

Gen3cats @gen3cats.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Been invited to the hen do of an old school friend. Great! Except she isn't taking into account that several of us have kids, work Saturdays or simply don't have the same disposable budget or love of city breaks (and its in London so why 2 nights hotel when everyone lives in South East??). Sigh.

200

Gen3cats @gen3cats.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Bit misleading with the lack of scale or most of the roads leading to the punting

Gen3cats @gen3cats.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Highlight of today was lunchtime #UnconfinedWalks to post the eldest's sewing box to her. Apparently 8 threads cost 20 Euros... whole box of bits posted for £15.

Cats2 and 3 have discovered how to climb onto the shed. Cat2 had sense to sit up there a while and then come back. Cat3 has wandered off exploring using the fence... luckily he came running back after 20 mins. But crikey i'm not ready for this stress level!

Her little sister still hasnt forgiven her for going on multiple trips over the summer and now this adventure... going to be a long year!

010

Gen3cats @gen3cats.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Well eldest has found a wool shop in Cannes, got used to driving on the wrong side of the road and is now sending me photos like these. Meanwhile I am doing data entry at home after struggling to get her sister in to school (cat3 weed on her skirt which didnt help!) And chain drinking tea

Gen3cats @gen3cats.bsky.social · 23/08/2026

I have pointed this out and that she will be coming home in 2 months and could collect more then...

010

Gen3cats @gen3cats.bsky.social · 23/08/2026

She had originally planned on taking most of a suitcase's worth - this was the bare essentials... needless to say the suitcases are massively overweight as this has been her approach to all her packing....

110

Gen3cats @gen3cats.bsky.social · 23/08/2026

Eldest is taking 2 suitcases to France for a year. This is how much wool she is planning on taking...

I've just cancelled my daughter's pocket money standing order as she is an adult and left school. Its only a token amount, purely for her to spend on whatever rubbish she wanted, but.... sob...

Gen3cats @gen3cats.bsky.social · 17/08/2026

Had my first readers in today who had only done research via chatgpt for their house history previously. Absolutely no idea if it had told them the truth or if they even understood the records I'd got out (luckily mid 19thc to 1954 but did include legal stuff). Sign of things to come?

Gen3cats @gen3cats.bsky.social · 15/08/2026

Cheers! Sitting in the garden with a limencello and kittens who were neutered yesterday but don't understand that they should be quietly resting and not play fighting and curtain climbing (bizarrely they are much calmer outside and its cooler too). Photo from last night... #ConfinedCocktails

Its a collapsable silicon one we were given 20 years ago! We were told it was a camping one... and its stuck. Bit like we still have red and green pasta....

010

Gen3cats @gen3cats.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

My daughter and her friends are currently sitting in a pub 'calming their nerves'. Their results are being emailed at 8am tomorrow morning. Not sure any will be seeing them at that time....

000

Gen3cats @gen3cats.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

Yep. Couldn't find the metal one but found the camping one!

130

Colander eclipse. 15yo thought I was crazy but it works!

040

Gen3cats @gen3cats.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

Ah the fun of well meaning relatives having no clue just how competitive the world is for 18yo now (or that actually you need higher a level grades for jobs and apprenticeships than to get into university now)....yes CCD was fine 20 years ago but not now!

030

Gen3cats @gen3cats.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

Nice #UnconfinedWalks to the pub. Childhood character postbox toppers including a hidden Wheres Wally. Should have taken photo of my drink but too busy drinking and chatting. Suspect will regret this as have work tomorrow....

Promised eldest that I wouldn't watch Sewing Bee without her (she is away for 2 weeks). This is requiring super human effort tonight
