Picked up my pre-order of All Hallows Eve from my local bookshop. I may have inadvertently hand-sold a copy of this gorgeous @datlow.bsky.social anthology to the barista at the drive through coffee shop. I couldn’t wait until I got home to crack it open.

Hardcover copy of All Hallows Eve anthology (covered in gorgeous spiders and webs and bats and skulls) nestled among purple daisies and orangish-pink mums.

Lenten roses have become my favorite garden plant. Even in my shadiest iciest spot I’ve got some dark purple flowers in the works.

Dark purple Lenten rose flower buds cluster at the feet of a cute pleading stone dragon. I call her Begonia.

Too cloudy to see the aurora tonight but last night we had a spectacular show.

Sky transitions between greenish blue at the bottom to bright magenta to deep purple. In the foreground are trees in shadow large and small evergreens interspersed with twiggy box elders.

Pac Man lichen #FungiFriends

On a rock on the ground there is a circular patch of lichen where most of it is bright yellow-orange with a white-yellow patch on the right makes it look like an open-mouth Pac Man about to gobble some dots.

A Portuguese Water Dog looks directly into the camera. She has floppy ears cute brown eyes and curly black hair. If you were to pet her you’d say, oh she’s so soft! And you’d be right.

Just the head and one paw of a black curly haired Portuguese Water Dog named Poppy peeking over the top of a polka dot pillow. She has absolutely nested herself into what was once a freshly made bed.

Happy Halloween! I don’t put my daughter’s face on social media but she seized the day and went as Elsa to school and trick-or-treated as Mae in Panda form. As consolation, here’s my dog putting up with my nonsense.
