If you're in/near Manchester, go and see the Joan Brossa exhibition at Manchester Uni. It's a delight! @uomcreativemcr.bsky.social

And hopeful...
A sign which reads " if I was going to the edge of the world I would bring a teleporter. And: * an extra big cockroach to ride like a horse *a companion (whether they want to be there or not) * a hoverboard * some gravity in a bag * a repurposed Victorian diving suit so I can breathe * Trump, so I can leave him there

Today I entered the magical world of DreamStates, where the Ministry of Stories brought the imaginations of children to life...wonderful!
A cardboard cloud with luggage tags hanging from it. The tags have dreams written on them. One says "my dream is to knit the longest scarf in the whole world". In the background are lots more tags and fairy lights
A plate of pretend food. A tag on the egg reads "Happiness is an egg that doesn't know it's been scrambled"

This is a fascinating read... "to mould a fistfull of clay is to encounter a fission and a fusion of deep time and the human present" Creative therapists will know the temporal properties of clay; often primitive and regressive. When someone chooses to work with clay, we'd better be ready...
An orange book cover with images of clay objects. The book is titled Clay: a human history, by Jennifer Lucy Allen. The book is next to a green ceramic pot containing a string-of-hearts plant.

An Inheritance (Manchester International Festival) is a time capsule artwork. It's wonderful! It made me laugh and cry. Hundreds of messages from hundreds of children will be stored and rediscovered in 2125. I wonder what the kids of the future will make of it? What would you like to say to them?
A slightly transparent enveloped addressed to Manchester Art Gallery (UK). At the top it reads (to be returned to Manchester Art Gallery UK in 2125). Where a stamp would normally be there is a box with the words "do stamps still exist?"

I had my portrait drawn at the Kids Market by Mary, age 6. She was very serious about her drawings. I love it!

Ah, the Winter Solstice is here again. I love this day, bursting with hope as the light returns. This week I visited Wirksworth in the Peak District and enjoyed contemplating the vastness of things from the StarDisc stone circle. Do any of you mark the Solstice?
Sunshine in a winter blue sky with clouds, a silhouette of a tree. In the foreground is a portion of a large stone circle (called StarDisk) mapped with star charts representing our place in the universe.

In the loop(s) (2024) “I’m eliminating the word ‘individual’ from my vocabulary” This statement (spoken by psychiatrist and psychotherapist Dr. Maria Grazia Turri) remains in my mind. We are never meeting just one person...
