Meet Vicky Hatch 🇬🇧 Communications Officer at EMBL-EBI She turns complex research & tech tools into stories that inspire. When she’s not promoting the impact of bioinformatics & open data, Vicky is an avid souls-like gamer & triathlon competitor. #WeAreEMBL @vickyhatch.bsky.social @ebi.embl.org

It was a real pleasure to work with my amazing team and colleagues across @ebi.embl.org on yesterday's event to open the Thornton building. There was genuine warmth in every one of the speeches both for Janet Thornton and her incredible legacy and for the work of EMBL-EBI

I will soon become the Executive Director of @embl.org, leading EMBL with Peer Bork whilst EMBL finds its next Director General, my colleague, Jo McEntyre will become @ebi.embl.org's Interim Director. Jo's leadership and experience means I am confident EMBL-EBI will flourish over this time

Worth stressing that computers from across the world access EMBL-EBI 100 million times a day - sometimes for a tiny lookup, sometimes to download large amounts of public domain information about the world we live in. I am very proud to be part of the @ebi.embl.org community delivering on this
