my first time I saw the phrase political football was when Keir Starmer used it to explain why he wasn't going to do a god damn thing to help trans people as lawfare ramped up under his premiership. Where's he now? oh yeah right. hope Philips joins him.

you should be forced out of politics entirely if you use the term "political football" when talking about someone's human rights. It's not a political football. you're just bad politicians who don't believe in anything. You're fence sitters with arses full of splinters.

everything's a political football (aka a game we don't want to play) these days according to *checks notes* the people we voted in to be politicians and represent us.

I am so bad at doing daily up keep things. I am now closer to 40 than 30 and every day is still a struggle to remember to brush my teeth. I needs me something that's a bit more set and forget lmao.

(but also aside from my rant about the NHS in the quote tweet just there; wouldn't be too difficult to modify the design to accommodate other medications or applications! all medication boxes come with the dose and how often on the box. Just tap that in to the machine and it'll do the rest! :D)

I'd love to be able to get both treated by the NHS and for them to listen to my preferences and prescribe injections. But it's not gonna happen any time soon for a whole myriad of bullshit reasons and so instead I just buy it from the dolls who live in countries where they have a choice.

as far as effectiveness goes the differences aren't big enough to really matter and it comes down to personal choice. For me? Patches always left gross marks and I've never tried gel but I hear it's daily? Injection is once every two weeks (11 days if I had my reminder box!) which I much prefer.

I've tried to find out why the NHS won't commission injectable E and noone has any kind of answer even after years of me being passed from office to office. my best understanding so far is they only commissioned gel and patches because it seemed like the safest & easiest method anyone can do.

and they really really really will try it on. You see Andrea Williams in that news report? It's literally her job and has been for well over a decade to try and push this "muh Christian beliefs when really what I mean is just *phobia" bullshit. They're organised and fighting - are you ready?

yeah basically. If you run a company and you don't want bigots coming along to try it on - which they will!!!! - you NEED to have proper inclusive policy and then to actually follow it for all people. In some case that is as little as openly stating you do not tolerate queerphobia.

id rather protect all bigot assholes in this way than open the floor for bigot assholes (who are often employers or senior employees) to be able to fuck us all over any time they like. our law here isnt bad. its just companies dont care to understand them = bigots taking advantage of them

as an employee you need to know what the rules are and how to operate by them. if the company isn't upholding their end of the bargain and forces through your firing EVEN IF YOU'RE A PIECE OF SHIT WHO PROBABLY DESERVES IT, you will win your employment tribunal.

cornish person girl @gemma.transwrites.world · 29/09/2026
ehh its p normal. i havent had a chance to properly look at the tribunal but i can hazard a guess that it was some failure by the company to either have proper procedures or follow them. it is actually a GOOD THING that your employer (or potential employer) can't just fire/not hire you on a whim

my client was unfairly discriminated against for their christian views (that gay people should die)
A screenshot of a Buffy Vampire. I think, if memory serves, this one is actually Buffy as a vampire, in fact.

So its just a still of Sarah Michelle Geller but with a big angry neanderthaal type brow and yellow eyes. And she's standing in a dark room.

I did actually start trying to cram all of the bits into one of those led light boxes with the laser etched plastic (pictured example). But I ran out of beans and something came up elsewhere that took my attention rip. But it would mean people could personalise easily :D
a photo of a laser etched light box. a small black puck sits on a table housing the electronics with a clear plastic coin sticking up vertically out of it. the coin has been cut with lasers to create a design which catches the light from the electronics puck to display an image. in this case I think it's some people hugging? but I honestly can't tell. the one I have dismantled on my self is a schematic design of a space ship from a video game - so you csn really put whatever you want in there with a little planning.

cornish person girl @gemma.transwrites.world · 29/09/2026
those tanks cute af tho. And sure, if I ever get around to it I'll definitely hit you up! you're welcome to also take the idea and run with it if you know your way around a micro controller :D I'd buy one, for sure.

cornish person girl @gemma.transwrites.world · 29/09/2026
it not hard. a couple leds, buttons, some wires and a micro controller would do it, most of which I have kicking about. I am just uhh... forgetful.

I keep thinking about making my self a "stab yourself with the girl goo" reminder box which flashes wildly until I actually remember to do the thing and reset it because I'm uhh... forgetful. I don't have a 3d printer to make it nice and sell it. but I'd happily put simple plans up for folk.

you know... gambling? that thing people get addicted to all the time and which ruins the lives of whole ass families? yeah that's fine. no barriers there. almost certainly because there's no queers and sex workers there either.

you'll note, for example, the online safety act prevents anyone in the UK accessing porn or other 18+ websites (as determined by govt) without first verifying your age. I can however still go to any gambling website I damn well please completely unimpeded.

that's not to say there aren't some people who have unhealthy relationships with porn consumption. obviously there are! But not one single person in the history of forever has used the phrase "porn addiction" to help those people. it's literally always just a means of targeting marginalised folk.
2261
cornish person girl @gemma.transwrites.world · 29/09/2026
"porn addiction" has regularly been cited to explain why there's so many more trans people today than there was pre Internet. If you're spreading this shit as legitimate you are harming my community.

i obviously support athletes wearing accoutrements which carry messages in support of marginalised peoples - including Palestinian children being genocided by israel. but i gotta know. what is an eyeblack and does it do anything to help the athlete do athletic stuff or is it just fashion.

also while we're at it women are better than men. Not only do I find them hotter, more interesting and fun to be in the company of; there's also the facts that there's significantly fewer women criminals of any kind but esp the big ones like rape, murder and child abuse. women > men. fact.

cornish person girl @gemma.transwrites.world · 28/09/2026
These people don't believe anything! As such they don't really have a lot to back up the beliefs they don't really hold. They're just grifters. There's money in being contrarian as long as you target the right people with that and that's literally all they care for.

(the only reason anyone knows Abigail Shrier's name at all is because she launched her bigot grift arguing young women were being told they're bad and suck so decided to start becoming men. Now suddenly young women are being told theyre broadly superior to men, apparently.)

of the handful of employment tribunals that have happened around my personal life most of them were related to disabled people not being properly accommodated. guess that isn't as newsworthy as "rich bigots attacking minority groups"

employment tribunals happen all the time and rarely make the news. If we had actual journalists in the UK maybe one or two of them could investigate why so many funded by rich people and which target minority rights get such extensive coverage? could be nice.

this is the bare minimum. anything less and it quite frankly doesn't matter whether you're transphobic or not. Transphobia is happening. what are you doing about that?

cornish person girl @gemma.transwrites.world · 28/09/2026
sorry politicians. The right wing media machine and all it's little haters have made it impossible for you to not give a shit without it rounding out to being complicit. You have to actively work with our communities and elevate our voices specifically because you all let the right get this far.

idk a lot about what this guys said just the odd few yikes things maybe he isn't transphobic. maybe he is. either way the fact he hasn't reached out to local trans groups to learn from them how to speak on issues which affect us means he doesn't give enough of a shit for my liking ngl.

"apparently having the wrong political opinions means you don't get to earn a living what a farce!" an excellent moment to bust out my tiny violin! (I couldn't afford a bigger one. your political opinions have made it almost impossible for trans people like me to have real careers).
