Move to a place where neighbors randomly invite you to enjoy freshly baked cinnamon buns on a Thursday morning

Highly recommend this tea infuser from Drosselmeyer if you’re using tea bags or loose tea with more classic infusers. I gave this as a gift to my wife and she loves it. The best part is you can easily take it out of the cup without spilling. I’m a coffee person myself.

One test I like to try with new models is to ask for a joke about the nuance of related words in Icelandic/Norwegian that have confusingly different meaning.Gemini 2.5 is the best model I've seen at this task

Our boy turns 3yo today and, thus, we are officially over done with kids under 3yo. We had three under 2yo for a brief period and it was almost easier then compared to now haha

A real time saver for busy parents, fry food on a pan with parchment paper. Keeps the pan clean after use AND the paper somehow makes the grease spill less outside the pan

It would really help if diff stats on GitHub Pull Requests didn't include files that are marked as linguist-generated=true in .gitattributes. Almost every PR I open at work has +1k lines with >50% auto-generated code. These files are auto-collapsed anyways, they shouldn't count for the diff stats.

Norway must be unique in how its tax PAYE system optimizes for a large «tax free» salary in June (for vacation) and «half tax» in December (for Christmas). This comes at the price of paying more taxes the remaining ten months.

The new AirPods Pro can accurately measure the hearing loss in my right ear, which has affected me for the last ~15 years. I have professional hearing aids (only right ear) but don't use them because I don't like hearing amplified sound in my bad ear. Curious to find out if the AirPods work better.

Good morning. First nap starts at 8:20am as the sun rises, after five diaper changes (four dirty), porridge, playing on the floor for a good hour, and a bottle each.

The sun rises over a field. There’s snow on the ground, and the twins are going to sleep in their stroller.

This paragraph stands out for me: Europeans will be forced to choose what values to nurture. We can’t have it all at the current trend.

If Europe cannot become more productive, we will be forced to choose. We will not be able to become, at once, a leader in new technologies, a beacon of climate responsibility and an independent player on the world stage. We will not be able to finance our social model. We will have to scale back some, if not all, of our ambitions.
This is an existential challenge.
Europe's fundamental values are prosperity, equity, freedom, peace and democracy in a sustainable environment.
The EU exists to ensure that Europeans can always benefit from these fundamental rights. If Europe can no longer provide them to its people - or has to trade off one against the other - it will have lost its reason for being.

Pro tip for traveling with twins. Buy two individual strollers and connect them with cheap plastic connectors. Working great so far.
