I think it’s to try and maintain the “amateur” ethos of the Olympics. Although the mega stars of NFL are trying to muscle in on the LA games’ flag football, and the NBA has been in and out of Olympic basketball. Ultimately it’s down to FIFA and assume it’s to protect the World Cup

There’s a lot of deserved derision to this post - but it does have a point. The mentality of most drivers is to fuel fully then drive which is also why the market is being pushed to install super high powered chargers. But a grazing, lower powered chargers everywhere method is more efficient.
