I’m not saying Dragon Hopper and Zero Racers would have saved the Virtual Boy, but both of these games are an absolute delight so far. It’s heartbreaking that they never had a chance back in their day. So glad to finally have them now, though!

I love looking at/learning about where things came from. I’ve been lucky enough to have lived through most of the gam industry’s history, and its continuing evolution is fascinating. I also love all the unique forms of physical media that have occurred over the decades.

I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating. Someone needs to make a Ninja Gaiden Classic collection, pulling together the arcade original, the nes games, game gear, master system, shadow, that weird mobile game, and whatever else I’m forgetting. This series deserves to have its history preserved.

Look. I get that this is based on Japan’s release dates, and Super Mario USA didn’t come out until later, but I’m reasonably confident Super Mario Bros 2 hit the US before Mario 3 hit Famicom.

It sure is! It’s possibly some of the most publicly wrong I’ve ever been. I turned out to really enjoy sunshine, Metroid Prime is a masterpiece and one of my favorite games ever, and wind Waker actually IS my favorite game ever. What a goober I was back then.

Characters dealt with inter dimensional travel REMARKABLY well. Also, that villager in the real world would have been captured and studied in like 15 minutes. But again, who really cares? My kids were smiling ear to ear. Well worth the price of admission.

Yeah, my daughter never finished it, but she loved it so very hard for a couple of weeks, and she’s not really into video games. That time was well worth the price of admission. I thought it was alright.

Downloaded Breakout Beyond on Atari VCS this morning. It’s super freaking cool, but I’m super bad at it. I wish the paddle on the joystick wasn’t so crummy. Still looking forward to putting more time into it!
