And this specifically mentions surgical masks. 😅
Screenshot of text about pneumonic plague prevention and treatment. It states that prevention involves avoiding contact with infected people and animals, using correctly fitted surgical masks, and isolating infected people from others. It also states that pneumonic plague is treated with antibiotics.

All Canadians right now.
A reaction meme from The Office. Michael Scott faces another person with a determined, slightly annoyed expression. White, all-caps text reads, "YOU KNOW WHAT? I'M GONNA START BOYCOTTING EVEN HARDER."

A meme showing Donald Trump sitting at the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office, smiling broadly and looking up at a bearded man in a suit who stands beside him with his hands folded. Above the image is text that reads: “Trump: doesn't want a ‘Communist’ New York: gets one anyway Trump and the Communist:” The man appears calm with a slight smile, while Trump looks up at him with an exaggerated grin.

Monday morning. Everyone was just out like normal, construction workers working, people out with their small children running around...people seem to have no idea. 🫤

Dear CBC audience member:

I am the Senior Manager for Journalistic Standards at CBC News. I’m writing to respond to the email you sent this weekend in advance of Sunday’s episode of Cross Country Checkup. You were among hundreds of Canadians who reached out to our editor in chief, Brodie Fenlon, or the CBC Ombudsman – or both – to express your concern and disappointment in our decision to ask “What does Canada as the 51st state mean to you?”

Some accused CBC News of “normalizing” a threat to Canada. Many insisted we had no choice but to call down the program altogether. While we didn’t call down the show, we did hear you loud and clear.

Program producers did change the question: not because they believed the original question “normalized a hostile takeover of our country,” as some wrote. But because it wasn’t nearly precise enough. The new question was “What do you think of Trump's comments about Canada becoming the 51st state?”

One of our key strategies at CBC News is to connect Canadians and have conversations, even if sometimes the subject matter can be difficult. We believe that Cross Country Check Up – Canada’s only national current affairs call-in show – has a duty to bring Canadians together as part of our national conversation. The program itself was hosted jointly by CBC News and NPR in the United States. We think this cross-border dialogue is critical at this important moment in Canada’s history.

In the end, we heard from scores of listeners on both sides of the border. The conversation was emotional at times. It was also thoughtful and respectful. That’s what we were aiming for – and what we always strive for. I invite you to listen for yourself here.

This morning, Mr. Fenlon published an Editor’s Blog about this episode and the intense reaction it provoked among Canadians such as yourself. It reads, in part:

There are important lessons in all of this about the precision of language, framing of questions and the challenges of …

On the left side, bold white text reads: "SHOULD CBC KEEP EMPLOYING A TRAITOR TO CANADIAN SOVEREIGNTY?" with white sound wave symbols surrounding the text. On the right, Hanomansing is pictured wearing a light blue jacket over a white shirt, looking directly at the viewer with a neutral expression.

I found this in the wild, a family member posted it. I can't comprehend the stupidity but it works apparently.
"The image is a screenshot of a post with a conspiracy theory regarding vaccines and pandemics. It claims that someone vaccinated and wearing a mask has had five boosters and caught COVID five times, suggesting vaccines weaken immunity. The post then speculates that authorities are 'trying to start a pandemic' by making people vulnerable to bird flu, accelerating its evolution into a human pandemic. It further hypothesizes that a cat eating a dead bird could get sick, allowing bird flu to evolve in vaccinated humans, eventually spreading and evolving further. The post ends with a claim that this will happen conveniently around Inauguration Day."

This is high tech, a counter?? I had Lemon Twist. The Twist wasn’t a feature, it was a warning. The Lemon Twist didn’t need a counter because the moment it twisted around your ankle was when you knew your reached your score count for the day. Movers only.
"A vintage 1970s skipping toy called Lemon Twist, featuring a yellow plastic lemon attached to a black cord loop. The original packaging is visible in the background, displaying colorful illustrations of children playing with the toy and text that reads 'Get a Lemon Twist' along with playful instructions like 'swing it,' 'spin it,' and 'skip-bump.'"

We used six Arctic P14 fans , framed by stained wood panels. The fan openings are covered with 3D-printed fan grills that my son made. I wanted to make something that looks more like furniture and blends into the room.
A Corsi-Rosenthal box designed with a sleek aesthetic. It features six Arctic P14 fans mounted on the side, framed by wood panels stained to a rich finish. The fan openings are covered with 3D-printed fan grills for added protection and style. The unit sits on a wooden table, with a modern, neutral-toned living room in the background, including a gray sofa and a white 3D printer on a cabinet.

Yes, ADHD. 😂 But that leads to some excellent purifier projects.
The image shows a cluttered workspace with various tools and materials for a woodworking project. A table holds wooden boards with circular cutouts, clamps securing pieces together, a vise, a glue bottle, and some screws. There are additional items like a box labeled "Corsair Matte," a fan grill, hand tools, and a blue package for a fan or hardware. In the background, there are electronic components, wiring, and a laptop, suggesting a mix of woodworking and electronics projects.

This image is a meme using the "Distracted Boyfriend" template. In this version, the woman labeled "Bluesky" represents a desirable alternative, the man labeled "All of us" looks at her with interest, and the shirtless man behind them, edited to resemble Elon Musk, represents the less appealing current option being left behind.

When the price of eggs keeps going up exponentially because of continued H5N1 (bird flu) spread. And there aren't enough eggs to make the vaccines but don't worry, you aren't allowed to get them anyway.
The case fatality rate (CFR) for avian influenza A(H5N1) is 54% as of September 27, 2024. The CFR is the ratio of the number of confirmed human deaths to the number of confirmed cases of infection.

Settings->Accessibility ->Alt Text->Require alt text before posting I never knew this feature existed.
"Screenshot of an accessibility settings menu with the following options: Under 'Alt text,' there are toggles for 'Require alt text before posting' (enabled) and 'Display larger alt text badges' (disabled). Under 'Media,' the option 'Disable autoplay for videos and GIFs' is shown and disabled. Under 'Haptics,' the option 'Disable haptic feedback' is also disabled."

This keeps running through my head as I spend more time here. 😂
Meme from The Good Place. A scene where Chidi in distress describes "a trillion different realities folding onto each other like thin sheets of metal forming a single blade", Michael dismisses his shock, asserting that "everyone has seen the time-knife".
This meme has the title "New bluesky users describing twitter" then the image of Chidi talking about the trillion different realities. Followed by the caption "Veteran bluesky users" folllowed by Michael saying his part.

I have a fascination with building these as furniture to fit in a room better. Attempt 1. My son 3d printed the grills and made the holes which reinforces that there is SO much potential for STEM activities with these. (I have a second part using microcontrollers to do C02 monitoring as well.)
