Yeah it’s not clear at all. I’ve seen some people use them (but they don’t turn blue like on a certain other site) and some people putting tags in parentheses for some reason!

Hah, same! A lot of people I speak to though say something like “can’t you be the one that does the AI” so I don’t even think the majority of people know that people are being replaced and stolen from.

100% And when you try and explain that you just want to make money from a craft you’ve invested so much time into, you’re met with “You’re just annoyed you can’t gatekeep creativity anymore” Honestly shocked at how many people silently resented artists.

The convos around the copyright/AI situation shows how lots of people love art but hate artists. You want to consume what we make, but not for us to have any ownership over it. The reality is we live in a capitalist society; we have to protect what we create or we can’t support creative livelihoods.

Yep, exactly how it felt for me too. I then started floundering and making deliberately different work because I was convinced everyone was bored of seeing the ‘same’ thing from me. It honestly took way too much of my time, and quite a toll on my creativity and mental health if I’m being honest

You’re not alone. At first it hit me in my confidence, and I started thinking I don’t make good stuff anymore, no one likes my stuff anymore etc. Now it’s hitting me in my wallet, and I’m just not getting the eyes on my stuff, and consequently struggling for work. Don’t know what to do tbh!
