It is aspen season in the Eastern Sierra, so I’ll be over there a lot in the next few weeks, too. I would not be at all surprised if I end up at Mono again at some point. Enjoy your visit!

As I looked at it, it did star to look like perhaps there wasn’t a vertical drop-off next to it, but the photograph certainly look harrowing!

Thanks, Gary. As you know, one has to spend a lot of time in the field to get a few opportunities like that one. I’m happy that I was there and saw it!

There are a number of improvements with how bluesky (and others) handle tags. Re: your ideal, it would be cool if bluesky automatically populated a popup with your most common tags. It would also be great if they would hide the tags and not count the characters as part of the post.

ELECTION ALERT FOR FELLOW CALIFORNIANS. Propositions often mislead Californians, and advertising for Prop. 42 is a prime example. Prop. 40 is a “poison pill” in case Prop. 40 (the “billionaire tax”) passes — it overrides it. Vote wisely! #california #politics #proposition42 #proposition40

Indeed! I've seen his prints at exhibits in San Francisco and New York. At first I did not quite "get it," but I've come to appreciate his work a great deal. I sometimes feel that he may among the excellent photographers who doesn't get the attention he deserves in today's online world.

Speaking as a person who actually did some serious rock climbing years ago… there is no way you would get me to walk unprotected along a ledge like this (given what it looks like in the photo) these days!

…lot of good stuff that isn’t on our radar or that of our circle. Almost every time I wade into the #photography hashtag feed I discover something new and interesting that I would not otherwise have seen. (And I add these things to my own lists.) It is also worthwhile, I think, to see work that is…
