To be clear: I'm not saying someone born talented in something can't also be a practitioner. But I do think we should start using that term more often for people who excel in their practice... Plus, saying, "I'm a practitioner of the literary arts" has a certain ring to it! lol

Talent, definitively, is something you're born with. A "practitioner" is someone good at something they may not have had the talent for. We all, including myself, tend to conflate talent with practice. In other words: you are correct. Calling a practitioner "talented" could be insulting.

For me it's honestly twofold. I'm Christian myself, but mostly I find it fascinating that sex work goes all the way back to the time of Christ, and what's more, one of the most prominent sex workers ever known is related to him. Maybe it's weird, but I think that's so cool!
