B/w photo captioned 'Chiens groenlandais.' from 'Terre Arctique' by A. de Cayeux. It is 4 dogs lounging together, 2 playing with teefs out, one looking relaxed, another in the background turned away from the camera to chew its butt.

I knit this bear's whole arm since the last time this train moved
admittedly the bear is like 4 inches tall and his arm is only a 16 stitches by 20 rows long knitted tube. the bear is dark brown with round ears, one arm and one leg, with white yarn representing a t shirt and underwear.

my queue of things to knit is so long esp. relative to how slow i knit but look how cute this is www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib...
promotional photo for the knitting pattern "knitted riverseam sweater" by maysa tomizawa. a boxy garter-stitch front body panel rises to the neck of the sweater, each shoulder is silhouetted with a garter-stitch panel of bright neon yellow to blue to yellow again striped transitions. it looks like there is mohair in some of the yarn, giving it a fuzzy halo. another promotional picture of maysa tomizawa's knitted riverseam sweater. i believe the model is the designer or their partner, and they look just adorable and super happy, smiling and posing with their hand behind their head to show off the boxy shape of the sweater's body.another picture of the cute model posing outdoors in a city, smiling and wearing a crossbody bag with a black strap and yellow/green panels that vaguely match the shoulder stripes of the sweater.

maybe producing CO2 for its own sake is the real purpose of the internet now and the text is just there to trick us into thinking there's something else going on (chris behroozian does a gay pinup calendar i love, he's talking about photography in this interview, not music)
bluesky post from an account called ambientperiphery.bsky.social that says "chris behroozian on the guitar as slow weather - feedback, drift, and the patience that lets a chord finally settle" next to a link card that is from an imo quite lovely and romantic photo of two men spooning in water, their eyes closed, one floating supported by the other. the link is to "in conversation with: chris behroozian" on aint-bad.com and if you click it as i did you will read an interview that is entirely about photography and not about guitar feedback or chords or weather. it seems to be a real interview w the photographer but maybe nothing is real

aqi 67 vs 99
view of city skyline: sky is blue, light is clear, fluffy clouds visible over buildings on the horizon that are slightly faint but you can see their colors pretty much accurately. grass in the foreground appears off-white and greenaqi 99: light is sickly yellow, gray monocloud, buildings on the horizon are only outlines. grass in foreground appears yellow, copper-colored, and dull brown

nice stylish steel lugged bike with wide flat handlebars that have leather grip tape, leather saddle, brown possibly leather rear fender. before taking this pic i saw the guy who was riding this so i can say with some confidence that he is hot. unusual setup for a tern 20" wheel folding bike as a brakeless fixie; unusual choice of fixie in that it is a tern 20" wheel folding bike. rare bike schwinn vintage steel mtb(?) parked outside the grocery store. tied to the rear rack is a folding grocery cart of the style typically pushed or pulled by a person on foot. i assume this perhaps didn't work flawlessly for carrying groceries but i wouldn't know because i've never believed in myself

untitled excerpt from I NEED Music by Anaïs Duplan

Last night, while you were caressing me, touching me,
holding me, I was kneading you, pushing you, pinching you.
Between these intimate gestures, a quiet message came to me:

We have ebola under control.
We have the most transparent administration in history.
We have shovel-ready jobs. I'm not an ideologue.
I'm gonna get to the bottom of this.
We'll go through the budget line-by-line.

You caught my attention, Mr. Officer,
as I mouthed the words to the song. As my friend 'n' I crossed
the street, there you were tall 'n' handsome with milk chocolate
skin in uniform 'n' I couldn't help myself, I signaled to my friend
how hot you were 'n' we began to sing officer, officer.
Or were you asking me not to talk?

from The Ship Named Night (collected in Six Films) by Marguerite Duras (trans. Olivia Baes & Emma Ramadan)

--The people who cry at night into the abyss all set meetings. These meetings never end in encounters. They're just set.

--It's the call that is hurled down into the abyss, the cry, which unleashes the orgasm.

--It's the other cry. The response.
--Someone cries. Someone responds that they've heard the cry, that they're responding to it.
It's this response that sets off the agony.
--You say that you remember this man who shouted at dawn.

--Yes. He called. He said he was the Cat. I'm the Cat. . . Do you hear? The Cat is calling. . . This is the Cat. . .

--His tone was an order.

--He gave orders, yes. But he also begged.

--He said the Cat was seeking someone.
That the Cat wanted to orgasm.
That someone had to answer.

--It was a man who answered. The voice was very sweet, tender. He said he could hear the Cat. That he was answering to say this, that he could hear him.

--He told him to come. To orgasm.
Come. Orgasm.

--Yes.

i just realized the version of les guerilleres with this cover image is the one with wittig's preferred translator... i would love to know how they settled on this design
les guerilleres by monique wittig - 2007 translation with david le vay - cover image of an "i saw the tv glow" style glowing mist, standing silhouetted in front of the mist is a slender figure with 00s beachy wavy hair and cargo pants striking a pose contrapposto and holding a large gun one-handed at an angle that makes it maximally legible to the camera

sophie lewis' foreword was very helpful. i love the psychedelic hill wittig's fiction is always climbing. i'll definitely want to reread this
winter editions 2025 reissue of "across the acheron," the english translation of "virgile, non" by monique wittig, with foreword by sophie lewis and translation by david le vay. the beautifully designed minimalist cover, with elegant blue accents lighting up a subtly speckled paper surface, shows off the opening lines of the novel: "The space is devoid of ornamentstion. The sand passes in fine, hard blades over the beaten surfaces. Manastabal, the one who calls herself my guide, walks ahead of me. Fortunately we don't have to wear tunics for this journey, which is both sacred and profane, for they would be instsntly torn off by the wind. Instead, the sress and gait of Manastabal, my guide, are somehow familiar. Her billowing..."

clocked in reading (Miss Nobody Knows by Leslie Kaplan)
no. When I come here, I'm afraid. Not of him, she pointed at the foreman, even if he always makes you feel like you are doing things wrong, but it isn't that. I'm afraid when I'm on my way here, my life has taken this turn, coming here, what does that mean? This isn't a place, here, this isn't a place. I wake up in the middle of the night, I'm sweating, I can't get back to sleep. I don't understand how my life fits into this box. In the morning I get here, I see the gates, the time clock, I ask myself, what am I doing here, and instead of being angry, mad, I'm afraid.

-

Or the women who worked with the heavy machinery. Strong, their feet set firm, their hair cut short, this was required, full-chested. Always with the cigarette in their mouth. They didn't discuss, they only affirmed, defying, mistrusting, very few words, I like this, I don't like...
