I like the theme idea, though I worry it would become crossed with the Friday Morning Mixtape. Maybe something like #xpnrecordclub? I like the discussion format here better than something like Discord but I'm also old and never got the hang of Discord, so maybe that's a better venue?

How do we do it? Album of the week? Song of the day? Community curated record club? I would totally do something like - group members vote on song to listen to & discuss, and the next couple days can be dedicated to gushing/ complaining/ marveling/ nitpicking - no strict timeline or pressure

One year I thought it would be neat to compile the countdown onto a CD set and offer them as thank you gifts for a generous donation during the fund drive, but then I realized between 1) tracking down rights to 885 songs and 2) the fact the set would be like 20 CDs long, it would be impractical

Me too! And no, it isn't a super nice movie but it has a nice ending. I tried to explain to my kids that it steps on a lot of romantic comedy tropes, and that her horribleness is the point because she evolves past it, but they couldn't sit through her treachery. Ah well. It can be my guilty pleasure
