Bernadette Greene-Placentia was out around 2am when a pair of men snuck up from behind and hit her over the head. She woke up to find them assaulting her. The attackers fled after she started kicking at them. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said the incident is under active investigation.

I think it's a case of missing the forest for the trees; a lot of grim and gritty stories weren't being grim and gritty to be cool, but to emphasize a sense of societal collapse and the loss of compassion and consideration for other people (something Nolan's The Odyssey does well).
