GENUINELY wish they just did a lot of explicitly non-canon stories and then tied them together via meta-narrative of sorts about canon-ness. It would feel less insulting and dogshit. And the fanservice moments are hollow.

Homestuck post canon turned every single character not into natural consequence of what happened to them, or who they were, but into symbols, character fit be damned. However it is unaware of this fact, as we never see the mask cracking. We don't see the horror of being made into a role.
