Nonprofits, and frankly everyone, need to seriously consider whether their use of AI is benefiting their community, or whether it is contributing to a physical environment that will damage length and quality of life for the people we are trying to serve.

Routinely returns misinformation that harms rather than helps people seeking to understand their health. (AI is machine learning, if that data in is bad, the data out is bad.)

Directly and negatively impacts the health of vulnerable individuals by contributing to global climate change including water shortages and higher temperatures. Directly contributes to health inequality when data centers are placed in low income and/or BIPOC communities.

Dear health and social justice organizations, As you discuss the benefits of machine learning (AI) for your organization, make sure that discussion weighs perceived benefits against the costs. Machine learning does have exciting potential, not least in diagnostics. In addition it:

Incredible evening singing along with @indigogirlsmusic.bsky.social and a few thousand new friends. Loved hearing so many classics plus a powerful encore cover of What's Up (What's Going On?) with Linda Perry.

The latest action rescinding the Title IX regs does not change the law. It is cruel, yes, but we should not panic and instead invest in state and local protections. time.com/article/2026...

Proud of the CDCers who fought to get this vital info out! 30% of our workforce is gone. Heartbroken by the loss of brilliant scientists, institutional knowledge, & frankly my friends, colleagues, & mentors. An understaffed CDC harms the public & leaves the US vulnerable. Rebuilding will take years

Beshear really has been a light in the darkness on trans issues. He's not perfect, but he's been remarkably consistent on telling other Dems that they need to continue standing up for us. It makes me wonder if he has a trans person in his life.

Cis people do not understand how much trans people's rights have regressed in just 5 years. 5 years ago, there were none of these restrictions. 19 states banned legal recognition 21 states have bathroom bans 8 states ban gender marker changes on DLs 25 ban gender affirming care for trans youth

When Democrats attempt to triangulate on trans rights, it's my sense that many liberals and people in politics don't understand why many trans people are so upset. I wrote about the differences between then and now, what trans people have lost, and what we still stand to lose

I really am thinking specificly about Sharrod though. Erin's list includes some people I would probably stand silent on too. It's worth careful thought; and it feels gross to me either way.

Every vote will matter in some of those swing states. The voting block doesn't have to be big to be part of what decides the election.

I'm cis(read out of my lane here) but I've been thinking about when I voted for dems bad on queer stuff Came down to: 1. They were going to do what I wanted on other issues. It's all connected Not voting felt like abandoning those friends.

I will cautiously admit to feeling conflicted about some of these. I would, for example, prefer to pressure Sharrod Brown to do better from his position in the office then let Ohio go to his opponent. I think he can be educated.

Amnesty International put out a major report documenting the influence of UK based anti trans gender critical organizations and their funding. Within hours, GC groups threatened defamation lawsuits and Amnesty was forced to pull it down. Proving the point they're anti rights. Anyways, here it is.
